I'd like to teach my kids to play, but would like to use as many of the modern rules as possible. I only have the Classic version, but would pick up Spring 1942 2nd if they liked it. Was thinking playing with the latest rules would make the transition less confusing.

Has anyone developed a rules that works reasonably well? The obvious one which would not work are subs, as Classic has no destroyers.

Download the rules to 1941... that's a modern version that should work with Classic (add-in any 1942SE rules you want).
