To be honest, I’m mixed about scrambling. When I’m feeling bold I do it (especially, like you said, if I’m not doing Taranto), but conservatively I don’t do it.

Sealion, from my experience, is really hard and almost impossible. Honestly in one of my Global games were it not for UK mistakes allowing the loss of London and Japan’s success Germany would’ve gone down.

Take the Suez Canal and Gibraltar, and defend them like hell.

That should make the Mediterranean an Axis lake and open up the Soviet Union and Africa.

Or, just build infantry in Moscow and pull everything back except the first line.
This is a strategy that will make Moscow nearly impenetrable. As Germany treks across the Russian territory that has only one infantry each spot except the front line, Britain will be pouring their entire strength into invading from the opposite side.
