Why was version one changed?   Also what is "commander and chief" part of version one.  and how were amphibious  assaults different?

Ouch I would had to find myself finding a combined Allied force.  But how about USA and British joining forces like they did in the war?  Or would this stil unbalance the game too much (ie D-Day)?

I think that'd way unbalance the game too, because German and Japanese forces could only use the rules late in the game when they'd basically already won--they link up only very late...
