@WILD-BILL Eqqman is correct.

Still not clear how air combat works:
Is there only one round of firing?
The battle board says all remaining fighters strafe enemy ground units; does that mean from both sides?
Does a 2:1 survival of fighters still constitute air supremacy?
-
I thought it was one round of fighting as well. If there still are enemy aircraft then no air supremacy exists, but both side’s air can strafe ground units.
-
From A-H’s turn:
“If one side gains air supremacy either by being the only one with any fighters left, or was the only one to have any fighters at all, he or she gains air supremacy.”
That’s the only reference in Larry’s report to a battle for air supremacy. Could mean that they battle to the death, but the if could mean that they only fight one round.
You’re welcome for the terribly helpful post. :-)
Edited to fix spelling.

I think as a house rule some nations can have a fighter ace, which boosts one fighter at +1. This might represent things like the ‘flying circus’ as it was known.
-
Yes, but Aces have to earn the rank by scoring victories.
-
Aces could be a national advantage.
Your fighters can reroll misses
-
Let me know if the new preview answers your question, if not. I’ll revise it.
-
I think so; fighters continue rolling until one or both sides are eliminated.
The text on the battle board should be much clearer on this.

You got it. The confusing part is that the fighters then also strafe. Lot’s of bonus attacking in this version.
-
Wait……dogfighting lasts till one side has no remaining fighters?
-
Or both sides.
The Battle board suggests otherwise, but air supremacy is a fight to the death, no retreats.
-
No retreating with air units seems sort of silly.
