What ruleset do you reccomend?

@Colonel-Mustard Yeah,7 out of 8 times you would’ve been able to retreat as planned.Some famous military guy once said"No plan survives contact with the enemy"If USA and UK were going hard after normandy and denmark,that should give Italy a chance to grow strong and help stop the western allies.
#1 rule Always protect your capitol.

When they come out with a War of 1812 game,then we can conduct a toronto raid.

Take the Suez Canal and Gibraltar, and defend them like hell.

That should make the Mediterranean an Axis lake and open up the Soviet Union and Africa.

Or, just build infantry in Moscow and pull everything back except the first line.
This is a strategy that will make Moscow nearly impenetrable. As Germany treks across the Russian territory that has only one infantry each spot except the front line, Britain will be pouring their entire strength into invading from the opposite side.

I use OOB rules.
I bought this game in November and play one on one against my usual A&A opponent.
We’ve played seven games so far and the axis have won four…allies three. So we think it’s pretty balanced…the only thing we don’t like is the starting IPC’s for Italy. You can’t buy sh*t with that and they lose half of their starting fleet before it’s their turn.
But since the axis have won four out of seven it hasn’t really affected the overall outcome.
