I like different scenarios, might try one if I can find time and players.  Have a game coming up, but I think its only going to be normal rules due to the people there.

Maybe its on your site and I missed it, but one alternative I have used when there are six players (rather than opening two boards for two simultaneous games) is to split the USA down the middle.  Take the Eastern USA as one player with everything east of mid-North America, Western USA with everything east.  The Western USA forces can be identified with a marker.  The order of play would be USSR, Germany, UK, Japan, USE, USW.  All other items stay the same.

-Submerging Submarines. Defending submarines can submerge or retreat from combat. A submerged sub stays in the same sea zone until after combat when it re-surfaces.
-Planes can retreat from an amphibious assault. Fighters and Bombers can now retreat from an amphibious assault if the battle is going poorly for the attacker.
-Multiple AA guns in one territory. You can now place multiple AA guns within one territory. However, only one of these AA guns can fire in a turn.
-New Naval units can be placed in an enemy-occupied sea zone. You can now place any of your naval units in a sea zone that is occupied by enemy forces. If you do this, combat will occur on your enemy’s turn–unless the enemy moves its units out of the sea zone before the enemy’s combat phase. Note: You still have to place naval units in sea zones adjacent to one of your Industrial Complexes.
-Western Canada no longer borders on the Atlantic Ocean. This keeps players from being able to move units from the Atlantic ocean directly into Western Canada.
-When an aircraft carrier is sunk. The surviving aircraft on it can attempt to locate and land on a friendly island, territory, or aircraft carrier. These aircraft have one movement point to do so.

Once in the New Game menu, instead of clicking Begin, click on Options, then Edit Unit is directly above your choice of buttons for that menu.

Are there 3rd Edition Rules for the A&A Boardgame? I heard that there are 3rd edition rules for the computer game, though I have no idea about the validity of this statement. If so could somebody please post a link to such rules?

Anyway, often the best player are going for Japan or Germany for the challenge and the liberty. Axis (even more with RR) are rhythming the game.

Stacking AA guns can be an advantage to the Allies when it becomes necessary to juggle AA guns between Allied territories. Under second edition rules, the Allied turn order can cause industrial complexes to go without an AA gun which can mean big trouble, especially if the Axis has heavy bombers.

I have had this situation arise many times in the European theatre, specifically when German territory is falling or the US has rockets.

agreed. This can even apply to the Axis as well. It may be nice to be able to “hold” a gun, while moving one at the same time. I remember at least one game where i wished that i could have 2 aa guns (even tho’ only one could be fired).
