• Hi. have a couple of questions about naval combat…

    If you attack an aircraft carrier with planes on it with subs, the opponent has to take the carrier as its casulty. What happends then to the planes? are they destroyed as well or do they get 4 moves to get to shore?
    Same thing if it’s a bigger naval combat. subs must attack ships so if they hit a carrier does the planes continue to fight or do they flee/die?

    If you attack a sub with a sub, can the defending sub submerge?

  • Official Q&A

    @Admiral:

    The planes must be able to IMMEDIATELY land.

    The planes defend in the air until the end of the battle.  They then attempt to land after all of the attacker’s combats are resolved and before the attacker’s noncombat movements begin.  If no landing space can be found at that point, they are lost.

    @Admiral:

    So, if there is another aircraft carrier in the zone, or a friendly land zone adjacent to the originating zone (such as an island) then the planes can land there. They cannot use more moves than that.

    They may also land on a friendly carrier in an adjacent sea zone.

  • @Admiral:

    If there is no attacking destroyer present, then yes the defending submarine can submerge.

    Before the first round of combat?

  • Official Q&A

    Yes.

    Hi.

    Is it possible to clear a sea zone with a combat after the combat-move and cross it later in the non-combat-move with other naval vessels?

  • It should be possible. Once cleared the sea zone is friendly and then naval units may move in or through them.
