This post cover the Europe 1939 Set Up before mobilization. I do it this way because mobilization was part of Diplomatic actions between the national leaders, in this Blog named players. Not all nations would mobilize in september 1939. Also I will edit typos later, for now I just want this Blog up and running.

Naval Base: To qualify as a real world Major Naval Base, it need a shipyard, drydock, refueling station, arsenal, supply depot and also be fortified. In this Blog I use real world Major Naval Bases. A&A is a game that focus on game balance and playability, and the A&A facilities in the Set Up is not always the same as in the real world. Alexandria and Pearl Harbour is examples of that. But for national pride Pearl Harbour is a Naval Base in this Blog, despite beeing only halfway finished in construction when it was attacked in december 1941. But that is the only exeption.

Germany: BB, 2 CA, 4 DD, 2 Tranny and 4 Subs. (I know only half of the subs were medium but I don’t care since sz 110 is first to be attacked) Ships of significance like Graf Spee and some auxilary cruisers are representet by spesific units. + Naval Base

I think you should take Cornwallis’ comment more seriously.

Even if Germany loses their air force sinking that fleet (which usually is only possible if they already took heavy losses destroying the fleets in sea zone 110 and 111 with a scramble), Italy now has a free hand in the Mediterrean.

Trust me, there’s not much more dangerous in a Global 1940 game than an Italy that isn’t contained and goes wild in Africa and the Middle East. Unless the Eastern Front and/or the Pacific War are going really well for the Allies, the Allies have basically lost in that scenario.

You made a good point about taking British hits first though.

Hi barnee, the Set Up for Global 1939 is the same as G40 OOB and HRE - unless otherwise mentioned in the Global 1939 rulebook & Set Up.

I’ll clarify this in the G39 Expansion rulebook.
