My suggestion would be to reach out to those online community members for more information. If you have any other questions or concerns, I'll be glad to help you with them! Alexander S. So for my initial question : “Can you move a transport ship 2 territories and then use the transport ship as a bridge to move land units over sea, all in the same turn”, the answer is not only positive (it can) but supplementary the transport can make a bridge for another 2 land units (infantry + a second land unit). So by doing this, a transport ship can bring/offload in one turn FOUR land units (2 infantry and 2 other land units) on a friendly territory. This is rather surprising and not explicit mentioned in the rules for loading and offloading with transport ships. About the balancing of the strength of the two powers. I found on the internet that some AA-players wrote about a patch introduced by Larry Harris (the creator of Axis&Allies) : :”the “42.3” update introduced by LH last year“ “In the patched game, the balance is much closer. ” I am searching the internet to find this patch or adaptation of his rules “Axis (19)42.3 update” but I cannot find it. Do you have Larry’s updates ? Or do you know where I can search or ask for it ? To clarify, a unit can load AND offload, but it can not do any more movement. Loading onto and/or offloading from a transport counts as a land unit’s entire move. Furthermore: A transport can load and offload units without moving from the friendly sea zone it is in (this is known as “bridging”). Each such transport is still limited to its cargo capacity. It can offload in only one territory, and once it offloads, it cannot move, load, or offload again that turn. To put it simply, a transport can load units (provided they made not other movement), move, unload those units, then load and unload additional units by bridging because that counts as the movement of those units. As to your second question, while I have no strategic advice to offer about strategy for the allies side, I think that your proposed home rules are a great way to impose a handicap. While not supported in the official rules, small changes that help keep the game fun are always a great idea provided you are playing with friends who are interested. Another possibility that you might consider is trying different strategies, or changing up who plays each side/country. If you have any other questions or concerns, I'll be glad to help you with them! Alexander S. On page 31 it is written : “A transport can pick up cargo, move one sea zone, pick up more cargo, move one more sea zone, and offload the cargo at the end of its movement”. And now you are saying that you cannot load cargoand offload cargo in the same turn of a non combat move of a transporter. This is completely the opposite. We always played the game with transport ships during the non combat move (due to the phrase on page 31, I mentioned above) as follows : - We move a transporter one sea territory, get an infantry and another land unit on the ship, come back to the previous sea territory and offload the two land units in a friendly territory, - We load an infantry and another land unit from a friendly territory, move the ship two sea territories and offload the cargo in a friendly territory, - We load an infantry and another land unit from a friendly territory, move the ship one sea territories and offload the cargo in a friendly territory - And, the situation as described on page 31 : A transport can pick up cargo, move one sea zone, pick up more cargo, move one more sea zone, and offload the cargo at the end of its movement These are all variations of the principle that a transport can pick up land units, makes its maximum move of 2 territories (or less) and drop the cargo in the same turn. If this is incorrect we were playing the game all the time wrong ! I’m confused. And if a transport cannot do this in one turn, it will be even more difficult for the Allies to get to the victory because they need to carry lots of troops to launch an invasion on Europe. If they have to stay one turn on sea with their cargo loaded and vulnerable to enemies attacks by sea and/or air, the invasion becomes impossible. Besides, and so I come to my final question : after playing the game several times with different friends, our conclusion is that it is almost impossible to win the total victory for the Allies. It is impossible to take the territory of Berlin when Germany puts there lots of infantry, fighters and AAA units, while Japan is becoming stronger and stronger by intruding through Asia or invading in Western Canada and so diverting USA from its invasion in Europe. We believe that the game is unbalanced and in favor for the Axis in the total victory modus. Maybe we should play rather the standard victory (with the errata/faq => 9 victory cities for the Axis and 10 victory cities for the Allies) ? What do you think about this final question/remark ? Do you have any suggestion in strategy for the Allies ? A Transport can move, then a new unit can get on, but then it would not be able to get off on the same turn. If you have any other questions or concerns, I'll be glad to help you with them! You mean by that the land unit on the transport ship I suppose…(?) But with that answer I still do not know the answer to my question : “Can you move a transport ship 2 territories and then use the transport ship as a bridge to move land units over sea, all in the same turn” ? Could you please clarify ? Support Agent (Avalon Hill) Nov 21, 4:35 PM PST Hello, To answer your question, page 31 refers to the rules for Loading and Offloading. One thing to remember is that loading and offloading is the movement of the unit being loaded/offloaded, and they can not do both in the same turn. Can you move a transport ship 2 territories and then use the transport ship as a bridge to move land units over sea, all in the same turn. Or is your turn over after moving the transporter through two sea territories ?
