Modifying A&A In-game nick.

Hello!!! I am having a problem. I want to change my in-game A&A nick. In the internet gamespy login, I go to modify, and attempt to add " (panzer) " to my nick. It brings up a message stating that there are invalid characters in my nick. What is going on??? PS- I see other A&A players using the exact symbols that my version says are invalid!!! cry
