Aren't techs really impossible?

The first side to get heavy bombers wins...  period.

That's why my friends and I NEVER play with techs...  How can we?

You may want to check out Spring's (on-line CD Club) statistics on tech.  It shows that even after obtaining tech, your chances of winning the game are still less than 50%.  There are a lot of ways to counter tech and many players do not really know how to fully utilize a tech once they acheive it.

Soon_U_Die, thank you for that post, it was very helpful.

I like the idea of holding off of techs until R5, but I've usually got it wrapped up by then....   (My friends REALLY need to learn how to play correctly!!!)
