The Second season is the best season!
My usual horse came up lame this year, so I am not sure who I am rooting for.
I know more who I am rooting AGAINST…
About time.
At least in about one month’s time.
Makes the fresh air of spring all that sweeter to inhale.
We know most of the teams already, but as always there is jostling for the Wildcards. I am sure everyone is surprised that two of those bubble teams are LAK and BOS. I bet they both make it.
They darn well better. My playoff pool selection boxes are going to be bereft of star talent without Bruins and Kings.
Gentlemen, please raise your Standards:
Well I know the Wings lost to the Panthers tonight, and Vancouver lost to the Blue Jackets (badly)… however, Carey Price got another shutout and will not only win the Vezina, but the Hart, Conn Smythe, and Lord Stanley as well.
Start your engines Motherfuc*ers!!!

If he does, it will be extremely well deserved and I will be very happy for him.
Go Blackhawk.
Notice, I don’t need giant letters or huge pictures because my team speaks for themselves over the past 8 years :-).
No Kane? No problem! Seriously though, that’s a big problem.

I think they could still take any team in the league even without Kane. That is how good they are. However, you cannot add enough value to Kane getting back to play. He is also just that good.
I was saddened to hear that he would miss the rest of the season and most of the playoffs. It is just the nature of the injury. The timetable is pretty set for healing.
The AV’s are still battling but I don’t think they make it. If Varly could play every game then maybe but I doubt it.

Isn’t MacKinnon out too? Yeah… it just ain’t gonna happen.
There’s no huge favorites this year, it’s anybody’s cup.
Dallas Stars have a .9% chance of the playoffs. :-(

 Hey… it could happen.
The Canucks are scaring me. Basically one game from out of the playoffs.

They live on the edge.
And who the heck is even on their team anymore? … Sedin 1, Sedin 2 and Ryan Miller?
And Kevin Bieksa, he’s still looking like a bigfoot of the Pacific Northwest.
Talking about living on the edge… Boston needs some heart right now.
Good, I want nothing to do with the Bruins in the first round. It might be a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’ but I’d gladly take a Rangers-Senators 1st round matchup.
It wouldn’t be spring without a Bruins vs. Habs playoff series… Bring em on!

My thoughts exactly. It would be interesting to see Boston as the underdog. Even if their team is mostly the same as last year and even when they won the cup, they just seem different. They aren’t clicking. It has to be a mental thing, because on paper they are mostly unchanged from the lineup that has produced recent success. I don’t get it.
Plus, like I said, the playoff pool just would not be the same without those tantalizing Boston names to pick from. With their star power and track record, it is easy to put them in the pool. Would you be more tempted to pick 8th seed Boston guys or 8th seed Ottawa guys? Yeah, no contest there.
It’s interesting that the spread is so thin for playoff entry.
For example - If Vancouver had just 4 more wins from the season, they would have as many wins as the best team in the league.
Yet there they are - 1 loss/2 points from out of the playoffs.
