    I’m going to solicit some other players and, after I hear back from somebody, I’ll start with turn order and who’s got what.

  • I have the map size set at 90 and the unit size set at 87.5…that works for me in most situations. I’ll increase the map size in major battles just to make sure all the units have moved.

    Before I get everything set up I’ll make a brief post about some of things new players may not be aware of. If you have any questions I or Dawgoneit will try to answer them as best as we can.


  • Battleships, bunkers, and  super carriers are two hit units. Two hit units will repair at the start of your turn.

    Transports have a defense value of 1. The game will choose them as casualties first…and you will be able to move them into combat to soak hits.

    Subs are vulnerable to air only attacks. If you’re doing an air only attack on just subs, you may be prompted to submerge your opponents subs after one round. I’m not really sure about that but if that is the case then please give your opponent the benefit of the doubt and submerge their subs.

    I’ll be choosing LHTR for carrier production as a game option. I’m not really sure what those are but, when I’ve played this game without them, you wouldn’t be able to place newly purchased air units directly on carriers. You could place the air in one of our original IC’s and then you would be prompted to move them to a carrier. And that was only in original IC’s…if you wanted to put planes on a carrier that was adjacent to a captured IC you had to build them in that IC and fly them to the carriers on the next round.
    If anybody knows what the LHTR rules for carriers are or has issues with them let me know.

    Elite infantry have an attack value of 3 when supported by art/mech. But ,if you combine regular infantry with the elites in an attack, Triple A will assign the bonus to the lowest unit first. So if you want the extra punch in at attack it’s best not to mix the elites with regular infantry.

    Some of the island chains are considered to be connected. You will be able to move ground units to them without transports and you or your allies will be able to move naval units through them.
    Control of some islands by an enemy power will block your enemy’s naval from moving through. For example, if Japan controls Sumatra then no allies ships will be able to move through Sumatra and Malaya or Sumatra and Java.

    What are the victory conditions?


  • The game uses victory cities and there are three settings for those…
    projection of power
    honorable surrender
    total victory
    I can’t find how many vc’s each of those needs to meet their respective conditions so I’ll set it at honorable surrender and we can play until we get the pop up that says a side has met those conditions or until one of the sides decides that all is hopeless…whichever comes first.

  • Another feature of this game is that you will be able to purchase a larger variety of units on turn four. Some of the units will be nation specific, such as katyushas for Russia, but others will be available to both your allies and enemies.
