• The election didn’t go as planned for me, the NHL is still locked out, my Marlins are fire selling, and my computer can’t get here fast enough ( wait is over on Friday), and a good friend just lost his uncle to a drunk driver.  Need some good news right about now.

Wow, yeah… I am in on about a third of that, but regardless you have my condolences.

Good news:  Thanksgiving is next week. Hope you have some family to celebrate with…
The Hobbit comes out in 30 days - if you are into that.
(Benghazi et al… could be impeachable if people catch on - good news but not)

Being above dirt and out of jail is a regular plus for me.

It should be for you too! :P

Makes it sound like you should be one or the other Garg!
Are you on the run or do you spend your time dodging traffic  across motorways in your lunch hour?
Be careful please. I am sure you will find a gorilla out there to care for you in your dotage.

  • Hi Hoffman. I am hoping that one will never grow old!

@Mallery. Did mean to say that I am sorry things are a bit low for you at the moment. You know you can always turn to us here. Did you have to go to Japan or did you volunteer? I know lots of people would have loved the opportunity. Hope things get better.

Never heard it before, kind of absurdly funny.

  • I thought you must have seen it. Cannot remember the thread, but Garg put up a picture(he does that sometimes!) of a gorilla and a girl in a bikini. I commented on it. Was this year.
I suppose I have ruined it for you now.

Ahhh, I see… well I did not see it. Thought it was funny anyway, though it may have been better if I got the reference.

    Brett,

Not sure that this helps at all, in fact it probably makes things much worse. I had to share though, because it is uncannily related.

I was one of the 30,000 described here, and had very similar issues. It was an excellent idea from the Romney campaign, but clearly they were not entirely prepared for it.

  • Things aren’t really that bad… I jest at my low luck right now with sports and the us political situation.  Only thing that is getting to me right now is the whole drunk driver thing.  This person will probably only see two years in prison, a slap on the wrist in fines, and a temp license suspension.  It’s times like this where I beg for the deAth penalty for drunk drivers who kill.  They are no different from pre-med murderers because they planned to drink and drive.  Unfortunately, nobody else sees it that way.

  • The judicial system seems a joke here in England too.
Sometimes I think I would be better off as a crim!
Is a life of bloody Reilly in jail with all the privelidges. To top it all, the stupid EU has told our government it is illegal to take away a prisoner’s right to vote.
    There is no justice.

Suppose that’s what you get when you voluntarily give away your national sovereignty to a global body. (Not that you yourself did so, but England)

Unfortunately that is what many US leaders wouldn’t mind doing.

Texting drivers are starting to become a serious problem. I know a lady who’s son was killed by a teenager girl armed with a cell phone and sports car. She is looking at 3 years, if not less. And this is in Texas where we are pretty harsh in punishment.

I’m sorry to hear about the bad news, if I may share a true and personal story……

Speaking of drunk drivers and having a bad day.  Thursday night a few years ago I was out with this one chick who I had just started banging and had spent the last few nights at my house, her sister was going to spend the night and we were going to do my first 3way.  So we left the bar after closing to meet up with the sister at an house party and I was trying to get this other hottie I knew to join us.  Last thing I remember was them having a smoke outside my hotrod, no smoking in my 1980 Z28 tricked out muscle car.  Then I woke up 6 days later with my jaw wired shut, leg that didn’t move, tubes in me, arm in a cast and my drinking buddy telling me in my hospital room the chick I had been screwing had moved in with him and they were a couple.  That was the start of some good news thankfully.  She turned out to be an alcoholic ho, they saved my leg and I can run on it if I have to, standing next to my car meant my auto insurance kicked in, and I had lots of extra insurance.  It occurred 2 weeks before new laws came into effect that would have dramatically capped my settlement and money for specialists.  Moreover, the hot female friend who would visit me and feed me blended up food thru a straw turned into my sweetassed girlfriend.  Adversity can often set the stage for a phoenix like re-emergence.

Buddy got 2 years less a day.  See in Canada, the moment you go to a 2 year sentence or greater its considered federal time and you only have to do 1/6 the sentence whereas a sentence of under 2 years (deuce less a day) is a provincial matter and you must do 1/3 the time before parole can occur.  So no point in asking for a 3 year sentence, either 5+ or deuce less.  The kid plead guilty, served his 8 months and has been out for awhile.  Me, 3-4 specialists a week on average, mostly to confirm the extent of my brain injury.  For legal reasons I will say the following…ummmm duh…uhhhh blahhhhhhhh duuuhhhhhhhhhh errrrrrr ddduuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.  Actually its my memory being poor compared to other domains and controlling the desire not to punch out idiots who irritate me, getting too old to keep doing that.
