American Industrial Mobilization

  • American Industrial Mobilization.
As soon as USA is at war in Global 1940.2, in addition to minor ICs becoming majors and the activation of NOs, USA will also automatically get the Improved Shipyards and Increased Industrial Production technologies.

The idea is to leave the first few rounds of the game alone, but allow USA to really push back the Japanese with large numbers of cheap subs and destroyers (and $9 cruisers), and also push hard in Europe with cheap transports. For example, $60 could build 12 subs out of in Western USA instead of 10.  This should shorten the Axis window of opportunity and speed up the game.

EDIT: here are the techs from the rulebook.
    Increased Factory Production.
Each of your industrial complexes can now produce additional units beyond their normal production ability. Major industrial complexes can mobilize up to 12 units, and minor ones can mobilize up to 4 units. Also, when repairing a damaged industrial complex, you can remove 2 damage markers for the cost of 1 IPC (in other words, half price). The maximum damage that can be applied to your industrial complexes is not increased.

    Improved Shipyards.
Your sea units are now cheaper to build. Use these revised costs:
    $17  Battleship
    $13  Aircraft Carrier
    $9   Cruiser
    $7   Destroyer
    $6   Transport
    $5   Submarine

  • Why not. Probably realistically reflects its industrial capacity.

  • The same can be accomplished by giving the US like 10 more infantry, so it never has to buy any more during the course of the war.
