@Panther Yes it seems the word “simultaneously” is the key word in the rule book, you wouldn’t be able to send tanks through the newly captured territory since all combat happens at the same time. Thanks for the reply the warm welcome and quick responses everyone.
Free for all?

Sounds funny, but has any actually done a free-for-all?
-
No. It sounds disgusting and I do not want to go to hell.

You could make peace deals and exchange cash…. Imagine Hitler and FDR teaming up!

I hear the boot of Lucifer, I see his filthy face and it is your face and mine…

Or even better - Diplomacy

Some friends of mine and me played a mod that was slightly based off of risk that was free for all. It was awesome :-D, its still in the development stages though.

I would say the main issue is that America is too good in a FFA. Unless you split the map ‘‘a la risk’’, but then again whoever gets the US is still too good.

Well, I figure everyone is going to be at war with America….only weasels would side with those dirty gringos…Picked up a new game recently with my gaming group…Napoleonic Wars has been fun, but I need to stop being the whipping boy (Austria).

The US can is not as much of a threat in a risk type setup as you might think especially if you downgrade the IPC value of the 3 territories to half the original value and upgrade the IPC value of the rest of the VCs to 4-8 IPCs each.
Plus North America is sea locked just like in G40 so it takes longer for whomever gets the US to be able to attack. So the defender gets at least 2 extra rounds to build up units.
