New Policy Regarding Advertising on the Forums

Starting today, we have a new policy regarding advertising products on the forums. This policy is similar to what other forums on the internet have.

The spirit of the policy is that companies are only allowed to sell or advertise their products if they are official sponsors of the site. Individuals are still allowed to buy/sell/trade with each other and occasionally reference "cool" products they've seen elsewhere on the internet.

1. Merchants will not be allowed to post advertisements to their products unless they become an advertiser or official sponsor of www.axisandallies.org

2. No links to eBay auctions, Amazon storefronts, or similar.

3. The trading marketplace: only individuals trying to sell or trade are allowed.

Any violations of the policy will be handled on a case by case basis.

Yes but if it gets excessive (like you mention it in every post whether or not it is relevant), then the situation will have to be reviewed. Knowing you, I'm sure you'll be fine.

No. I had no idea that you posted that. The rule is not retro-active.

The eBay thing is tricky. If it is a one time deal, e.g. you're getting rid of all your minis, it should be okay. If it is more than once, e.g. you are running a store on eBay, then that is definitely not allowed.

Again, the spirit of the rule is that if you want to advertise your company, store, or products here in the forums, you need to become a sponsor.

Posting non-minis stuff for trade is fine. I'll eventually create a new board for it but in the meantime use the minis section.
