So, I downloaded the 1.5.2.1 and the winzip file for Global. How do I attached the global file to the triplea program?

Put the zip-file to the following directory:

Windows 7:   C:\Users\YourName\triplea\maps
Windows XP:   C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\triplea\maps

You have to run triplea once before so that these directories are created.

But it will be a lot easier if you use the built-in downloader:

Start triplea, hit "Downloads Maps", enter the following link

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/tripleamaps/triplea_maps.xml

click "List Games". Then choose the maps you want and click "Install". That's it.

Ok, I have played Global on 1.5.2.1 against the AI at work (ssssh...don't tell them) and it is great to have. I am currently playing AA50 with 1.5.2.1 as well. You guys have done an awesome job with the program! Now if I could only figure out how to get past the firewall at work...

Awesome!!!  I'll try it out in a few days here- a little busy.  Its been a long time since I played TripleA but if all is well with Global then I think I will soon be retiring from the slow PBF- although it was good for a long time.  Time to upgrade to TripleA!!!  Sweetness...btw...nice avatar.
