Those were some rough rolls for the allies. You had pretty decent odds in both. I knew you did in Egypt, but figured you'd try for the Italian armor instead. And if not, I could retake it from Trj and eventually reinforce with Germans once they got a navy in the water. Ukraine I didn't see, which is weird because I saw the possibility of trying that move in Belarus & W.Ukraine. I think I was going to plop some air there, but decided to stage them in Greece instead.

Tough game.  Can't hold on too much longer.  Allies just can't seem to gain economic equality and position.  Stretched too thin in too many places.

Yeah, Egypt was a breaker.  Really bad rolls- should've had good odds.  The point was to make you retake it and have to commit your units to it.  Axis have some nice flexibility and Allies can't gain equality in $$$ and are running out of time.

I'll probably play a couple more games with Allies straight up to be sure, but I'm thinking I can't even play with Allies w/o at least $12-$15 on my side.  They just don't have enough punch in the long run.

I did do Tobruk instead of Taranto though which is huge.  Taranto is so much better in the long run.  I would be sitting on a stacked Egypt right now.

Yeah, my play usually tends to gravitate towards gaining economic parity/dominance. I might be somewhat aggressive to start, but it's a safe aggressive if that makes sense. I feel that due to fewer countries sharing the wealth and positioning that the axis have the advantage once they can collect within 10-15 of the allies. US's builds are usually a couple turns away from making an impact. Britain is spread out and vulnerable to having their empire crumble if the axis play smart and catch some breaks. China & Anzacs can be broken if you stop them from collecting early. And lastly France is almost a non-entity after rd2.

Not too long ago you were saying that the game was balanced.  wink Can't you admit some of this game was due to stellar A&A play. Or is it UM law that you can't compliment a Buckeye. I can take the allies next if you want, with/without bid.

Not too long ago you were saying that the game was balanced.  wink Can't you admit some of this game was due to stellar A&A play. Or is it UM law that you can't compliment a Buckeye. I can take the allies next if you want, with/without bid.

Seriously, though, you play well but everyone here is really at the beginning stages of breaking this game in.  Besides, Allies should be played by the better players b/c of its difficulty, correct??? wink

Most of my time has been playing the Allies.  So I'm not very good at the Axis yet, though I'm working through the typical gambit games J1, J2, G1, G2 etc.  I'm getting there.  I'll need 3-4 more games as Axis before I'm really used to it.

Also, I didn't do Taranto this game, which I know makes a big difference unless you really get diced there too.  That's the thing, Allies seem to need the dice to go well to hold it together.  They just don't have enough material it seems.  Anyway, I'll truly be convinced its an Axis advantaged game after a couple more tries.  I still wanna test some things out.

I am learning though...anyway carry on.
