• if a i contacted supplier is talking about a arrival date i don’t think its a joke….but hey that’s just me…if it is a joke were going to be seeing a lot as angry fans!

  • Liaison TripleA '11 '10

    Who did you call frenchie?

  • I’m not sure what to think about the truth of this.

  • im not saying who i caontacted…just in case i end up getting them in s**t but still…

  • Lots of gaming companies do some sort of april fools joke IMO

It is a joke, and nothing more, get your head out of the sand lol

  • Liaison TripleA '11 '10

OH, so you’re not going to say who you contacted, but I’m supposed to take your 16 year old word over the internet… right.

  • ok so i’m saying prove that it it NOT true…show me where they DENY that its true…we had proof of existence…just because they removed it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist…

unless you can PROVE to me it was a joke…like APRIL FOOLS from the WOTC community…or THIS GAME DOSEN NOT AND WILL NOT EXIST- SOURCED BY a higher ranking coprate employee, then its real.

Why does the burden of proof fall on us? Prove to me that this game exists, and I’ll stop saying it desn’t.

Also it should fall on you.

If I say “oh yeah WOTC’s gonna release Axis and Allies 1939, here’s the link: www,broken,com/link” and you say “No, that doesn’t exist.” by your standard, you’ve got to find some WOTC official who says “No, this does not exist.”

  • The link is not broken at all. You are confused. There are two links, the first being broken or pulled and replaced with a more substantial link.

This is how we find out about these games because they must provide an advertisement to retailers and distributors far in advance of the product release. It is typically not an official announcement but meant for retailers.

The game is coming out whether you like it or not.

  • Don’t see any working links IN THE ENTIRE 1941 SUBFORUM!…except for the following, which is a link to stuff as speculative as this.

    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26894.msg940898#msg940898
    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26896.msg942110#msg942110 (Same as above)

And this, which is something seperate:
    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26896.msg940889#msg940889

    Broken links:

    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26894.msg940821#msg940821
    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26894.msg940893#msg940893
http://www.axisandallies.org/p/new-game-announcement-axis-allies-1941/ (Two links below color box; 1 leads to a D&D product release, 1 leads to a page suspiciously clear of any A&A stuff)
http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26892.msg940927#msg940927 (Same link as listed above)
    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26896.msg940613#msg940613 (Twofer of repeats!)

(And BTW the only thing I’m “confused” about is my Mandarin homework, which I am epically procrastinating)

  • MOAR TRUTH:

Look closely at this “1941” box, found here:
    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=26893.msg940630#msg940630

Download it (you need to zoom in a bit!), look at the top right corner, and it says Axis and Allies Anniversary Edition. Only difference from the Anniversary box? It says 1941 instead of 1942. Not hard to do at all.

    Then look here:

    http://www.axisandallies.org/p/new-game-announcement-axis-allies-1941/

    There’s another box!

It actually seems sorta authentic (as in I can’t find the image it’s edited from), but it does say Age 12+ (bottom right). Wasn’t this supposed to expand the audience?

One more thing: notice how 90+% (perhaps 100%?) of the “links” are posted by mods/admin/other important site people? Conspiracy alert!

A Bing search yields results for: Anniversary, some 1942 mod and 1939-1941 boosters.

  • it must be the corn…

    Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?fah11pmpggbt7r8

Obviously the cat is out of the bag and WOTC stopped any more links. They hate the fact that we find out stuff against their backs.

This is the second link, the first was removed and replaced with this.

Since i saved this second link to my desktop, i was able to load it on Mediafire.

  • Key Selling Points
    Quick and Convenient:
Axis & Allies 1941 is designed to be set up and played more quickly than any previous A&A game. In essence, this is a simplified A&A experience that will introduce players to the A&A mechanics and play style. Play time runs between 1 ½ to 2 hours.

    Familiar Mechanics:
This game utilizes the A&A game mechanics present in A&A 1942 2nd Edition, as designed by Larry Harris (the creator of the original game).

    New Units:
A key feature for enfranchised players is an entirely new set of unit sculpts. There are 16 all-new designs such as the P-40 Warhawk, Tiger Tank, AVRO Lancaster, FW-190, IS-2 tank, HMS Hood, He-111, and the Akagi Aircraft Carrier. These playing pieces can be used in any other A&A game, and will be desirable to players who seek to expand their A&A collections.

    Europe and Asia.

  • IL: What prove do you have that that PDF is not a fabrication ?

Seriously this is the best hoax ever lol

That pic on the link you provided there IS the AA50 box.  It was provided as a comparison to show that the box is “almost identical to” the Anniversary box … not to show the new box.  Pretty clear especially when the picture is labeled as the Anniversary edition.

    /headdesk

There were other links provided that you did not put there.  I saw 2 of the links myself.  Both from the WotC retailer site … you know, the kind of thing that does not get indexed in searches like google (yeah, wow, did you know that’s possible??  to NOT be indexed on search engines?  pretty wacky stuff there y’know).

Conspiracy theorists make me chuckle, really.

WotC put out a retailer PDF with it as upcoming.  Prior to April even coming around.  April fools joke?  I know who the fool(s) is/are …

Now … this is not to say I am convinced.  I see no REASON for a 1941 version when Spring 1942 works perfectly well for a 1.5-2 hour “starter” game.  But then again, WotC does a lot of weird things.

  • only 32 pieces per nation! thats way to little :x

  • IL: What prove do you have that that PDF is not a fabrication ?

Dude. Quiet down. It’s not that big a deal.

The new game is real and WOTC provided the links, just look at the damm file.

Companies don’t release games as ‘jokes’ back in January, only for noobs to somehow stretch this April 1st nonsense when in REALITY i just let Djensen know about this game on April 2nd.

The original person to discover the original PDF is Questioneer back at HGD and that was months back…like January.

WOTC should make some news about the new product after its out which is entirely consistent with how they do things. The only respect they give is too retailers, so they can sell the games and have orders lined up and shipping arrangements made with distributors.  WOTC does not care about Avalon Hill and focuses only on Fantasy games…

The PDF is very close to the one that preseeded AA42 and AA50. Not sure about AA40 however.

  • only 32 pieces per nation! thats way to little

32 NEW scupts per nation, not total.

The totals are basically the same as AA42 as is the game…just new setup.

The product is just an excuse to sell new pieces to piece junkies.

Many people wanted an expansion pack with extra bits and this is the solution WOTC made up figuring a new game was a better seller than a “box of extra parts”

  • IL… always there to back me up ^_^

Who cares if it’s 12+? There are plenty of 12+ yos who don’t play this game as it is. By cutting down on the play time, there’s a very good chance they can improve the appeal and thereby garner more fans from the same age group without making it so simple an 8 year old could play.
