Operation Seppuku test game number 1\. JamesAleman vs Andy

  • Well, the two creators of Operation Hollywood are back to test a new design for an Axis strategy.

Andy and I go back to the high school days back in the late 80’s early 90’s. So there is to be much ribbing and joking.

To start, I shall mock Andy as he has chosen to respond as the allies to the Axis forces under my command.

We’ll begin with a song found here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILObfEzX92k

Play this song, it aptly describes what the axis are going to do to the allies with a little creativity.

Here are the lyrics to support it:

“This appear as a moral dilemma Cause at first
it was weird that I swore to eliminate the worst
of the plague that devoured humanity.        Clearly an axis reference to the allies :)
It’s true, I was vague on the how So how can it be that you
Have shown me the light.”      Nay sayers that Pacific first always wins for the allies

“It’s a brand new day and the sun is high        New strategy reference :) Notice the rising sun-Japan
All the birds are singing that you’re gonna die.    Mocking taunt that the allies are doomed
How I hesitated now I wonder why…”    Many hesitate to surrender the Pacific.

    “It’s a brand new day.”

“All the times that you beat me unconscious, I forgive    Yes, the axis can lose
All the crimes incomplete, In all honesty, I’ll live      That’s why I keep drafting plans
Mr. cool, Mr. right, Mr. Know-it-all it’s true.      Conventional thinking reference
      Now the futures so bright.
And I owe it all to you. Show me the Light.”

“It’s a brand new me, I got no remorse,
Now the water’s rising but I know the course.
I’m gonna shock the world, gonna show bad horse.”    Going to display the tactics in this game

    “It’s a brand new day.”

“And Penny will see the evil me
not a joke, not a dork, not a failure,    The proof is in the pudding :)
And she may cry but her tears will dry
when I hand her the keys to
A shiny new Australia.”                    Clearly an axis reference to Japan being vital :)

“It’s a brand new day, yeah the sun is high    See, Japan is the rising sun :)
all the angels sing, because you’re gonna die
Go ahead and laugh, yeah I’m a funny guy.
Tell everyone goodbye”                        We’ll see if the axis win :)

“It’s a brand new day.”      I’d change it to: It’s a brand new way :)

  • This is game one of two games to test two different approaches to a Japanese assist on a G2 DOW against USSR

It is meant as a reference to the validity of the concept outlined here:

    http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=24394.0

  • The focus shall be Japan’s first 3 builds to support a USSR first approach.

Germany has two choices, build navy while taking USSR or Build all land and race for Moscow

Japan has two choices with the theater after they deploy for USSR: Send the fleet minus air cover to harass USA or send to Egypt to prevent an India focus on our weakest link: Egypt

Hence both games, to test both concepts.

These are friendly games, real dice will be used (via forum) to give us the chance to respond to in game developments

We’ll permit redoing moves to address oversights/mistakes as this is a test of a concept, not a game for bragging rights :)

    Here it goes.

  • Just popping by, but I noticed something:

    Production:
    30 Buys:
    3 transports
    1 sub
    1 destroyer
    save 2 IPCs.

I think you mean 2 Transports?

  • Place 2 transports (not 3 as stated above, typo) place in 113
1 DD 1 sub placed in 112, will scramble 3 fighters to protect either 112 or 113 as needed.

    Collect 41 + 19 plunder + 10 NO + 2 saved = 72

Due to Yugoslave hitting 5 times, I’ll be about 2 units less in USSR, We’ll see if the extra French units that survived can make up the difference.

Yes, I was correcting as you typed in my post above
