A question has arisen in on of my games about movement in the Pacific and the blow up boxes.

I’m aware of the wrap around map here:

    http://www.aamc.net/txt_dloads.shtml

And my opponent has quoted Avalon Hill to dispute the map:

"The blow-up boxes on the lower right side of the gameboard cannot be moved on or off from adjacent sea zones. For example, the sea zone surrounding New Zealand is adjacent to the two sea zones surrounding Peru and Argentina/Chile on the lower left side of the board – not to the blow-up boxes! "

However, I think they may state the same thing.

Using Mapview, is sz #56 adjacent to the NZ sz (#49)?

I think they are but I’d like anyone else’s input. I don’t think the Avalon Hill clarification helps much, it just says that the NZ sz is adjacent to peru, arg, chile (sz #1, #2)

    Help.

  • I cannot help you. I have not downloaded the needed maps nor have I played online yet.

It kinda scares me(a veteran!) :)

My computers been acting up with these bugs and worms, too.

If you’re refering to playing online, it’s really not that bad. One Play by Email game and you’ll be set.

MB, that appears to be a dead link. Thanks anyway though.

Thanks SUD. As always you are there when the rules come into question, once again solidifying your A&A Guru status. :D
I’ve always just treated them as if they were just inside the NZ sz, and would use the wrap around map or CD version as a guide. (although the CD can’t be trusted)

It just came into question with my most recent game with Kobu.

We already moved on but it’s nice to know the wrap around map is legit.
