• If a ton of fleet surround Japan and lands units onto Japan.

Can Japan scramble one plane (or multiple) which would be considered as a sea combat - which by rule no bombardment cannot occur when there is sea battle - and cancel the whole bombardment???

Cause it is IMPOSSIBLE to take japan without bombardment when Japan has 15 planes (from beginning) and 10 men each turn with just landing force and some planes.

Q - scramble prevent all bombardment?

  • Official Q&A

    Welcome, jjang4814!

Yes, a single scrambled air unit will prevent offshore bombardment.  However, if Japan is buying 10 infantry every turn, it will soon find itself surrounded and with no income.  It will take a while, but it will eventually fall.

  • Japan is quite a large land area but it has only one sea zone, does this mean Japan is considered an island and scrambling is allowed?  Great Britain and New Guinea appears smaller and cannot scramble.  Can someone confirm Japan may scramble into it’s sea zone.

  • According to the game’s definition of an island, Japan can scramble aircraft because it is totaly surrounded by one sea zone.

  • New Guinea is after Greenland the largest island in the world.

The fact that Japan can scramble is a big advantage, of course. But if it gets to that Japan is in serious trouble. Then you need to hold out until Germany captures Moscow and Italy captures India.
