I think primarily when you want to improve your play as a nation like Germany, you have to analyze and examine where you might have gone wrong, or what battles/moves could have been the deciding factor that tipped the game against you.

For instance, you lost Barbarossa, but why? Where did you prioritize your main push? Novgorod? Ukraine? Did you bring enough units?

Putting a Major IC on Romania is viable, but really you shouldn’t need it. If you’re minimizing your losses and decisively choosing your battles you’ll get to Kiev and Stalingrad in no time.

I would tell them as little as possible and give them a +60 bid for allies and you take axis for yourself. When they loose they will ask why and learn a whole lot

Appreciate some of your comments on the game.

I think, the problem is Canada.
When I play the Allies, the problem I usually get is, that I fail on Logistic.
I can allways ONLY focus on weapons OR personals and trannys on one turn.
But we know from history that Canada was a vital manufactorer of weapons and armour for the allies.
Maybe a HR will fix this problem by:

When the U.S. is at war Canada contributes some portions to the allies as for the us in the Atlantic one DD and a bmbr for the uk.
And for pacific US one DD.
Each round!
For the pacific, Australia must be allied controlled.
As for the atl. .Canada must be allied controll for the DD.
UK must be allied controlled for the bmbr.

Interesting discussion because the number of actual or potential player nations varies depending on assorted factors.  There are nine powers in Global with their own distinctive infantry sculpts (US, USSR, UK, ANZAC, Germany, Japan, Italy, France and China), but the last two are odditities: France because it gets largely knocked out in the first round and China because it essentially has no equipment pieces and because it operates under restrictive rules…so that brings the number of full-scale players down to seven.  The number then goes up to eight if you split the UK into separate European and Pacific components (as reflected by the income dual-tracking system used in Global).  An added twist, which has been mentioned by several people, is the potential to have all the neutrals controlled by a designated player, since the neutrals have a distinct status in the game.  (The concept could even be taken a couple of steps further by distinguishing the neutrals with standing armies from the neutrals without standing armies, well as the pro-Allied neutrals from the pro-Axis neutrals and the strict neutrals…but that’s probably splitting things too finely, unless you’re operating under special house rules for neutrals).  With the addition of extra house rules (and pressing into service some of the existing sculpts available from HBG), a minor role could also potentially be assigned to two countries which have no sculpts but which do have their own distinctive map roundels: Canada and the Netherlands.

If you expect to play fairly soon with your nine-player group, under the official game rules, you’ll probably have to go for simplicity – maybe something like this:

9. France, China, and Neutrals

You can try to “mirror” the ��� airforce and fleet (you need some amount of trannies) and park it at carolines. Dont build ground force with anzac, only fleet and air. Pick up every money island you can. Trade trannies with japan.

No ground at all with Anzac at all? It seems like a good idea to keep some ground to prevent a “shoot for the 6th victory city”, as well as troops to contest the islands.

The Anzac fleet is only useful for blockers / attrition battles / adding defensive punch to the US fleet. That is useful, but it is important to stay alive and contest the money Island.

All warships from America including loaded carriers and transports, all in Queens land. Get the Philippines back with enough to hold the sea zone. purchase lots of loaded transports for ANZAC and land them in the Philippines for support, along with all three starting ANZAC fighters for scramble opportunity.

This is the ultimate A&A.

maybe you could have multiple people play a country, with each controlling a portion of the countries’ forces to have teamwork included in it.
