Destroyers Support Attack during Amphibious Assaults:

I've looked for other posts about this but found nothing. There is a conflicting rule. The rule book that comes with the game specifies a destroyer gets a one shot support attack at a "2" or less (pg.13, pg.27). However, the rule book that you can download from Avalon Hill (http://www.axisandallies.org/downloads.html) says "3" or less.

Which one is right?

I say the book that came with the game is "official". But my friend, says the one online would probably be updated more often so, that one is up-to-date, and therfore "more correct". Both are copyright 1999.

I am new at this but I stick with the 3 hit value.

Well, I was looking through the rules for AAP and despite some slight rules variations the destroyers in that game roll at a "2" or less.

Why would the games be different?

Ok, I got this cleared up. The 2nd edition rules say "2" and the 1st edition rules say "3".

So, destroyers get their supporting Amphibious Assault shot at "2".

I believe the Play-By-E-Mail system on aaeuropemc.com also uses the 2-or-less rule.
Note that Battleships still offer support fire at 4-or-less in Amphib Assaults.
