won't boot

i recently purchased a laptop with win 95/166 pent/64 mb ram just to play a&a on the web and not tie up the desktop. anyhow i installed game and went to launch and get the message that "cannot get lock on video". I have a cirrus logic chip with the newset driver/ direct draw enabled, with direct x version 6. i am open for suggestions..........
