This came up in a game I played on the weekend. My friend put a german inf in a JP trans. In the ten years I've been playing I've never seen anyone do this. Not in person, not on Facebook A&A and it wasn't in the rulebook. Is this a legal move?

It doesn't happen very often but yes, it's a legal move. It's a three step process:

Step one: One your turn, you move an Infantry onto your ally's Transport.

Step two: On your ally's turn he/she may move the transport to a desired location. (Or it may remain stationary)

Step three: On your next turn, you may unload your Infantry unit into an adjacent land territory. (Or it may remain on board, and disembark on another turn in the future if desired)

Hope that helps!  smiley

Lozmoid is totally right.

And it comes in handy more often than you might think, when you know it's legal (well, at least in AA50).

Sometimes those transports are far from home and only your ally's land units are close by.  It's a 3-step process, but since two countries are involved, it can actually be quite sneaky and effective.

Thanks guys. I wish I had known about this sooner. This is going to come in handy. British guys are going to use US transports to land in Europe. That's bound to save some time and ipcs.

Yep, it's pretty sweet.  Besides the application you thought of, sometimes when transports are far from home around the Suez canal, they can take Italian soldiers to far off and exotic places.  Or Madagascar or South Africa.

As far as I'm aware, this rule has been a standard in all versions of A&A...
