Reborn A&A player needs help….

Greetings all AA Advocates,

It has been awhile since I been on this site but with the mess that is on AHC, I thought I would start posting here.  Hope you don’t mind Dave…Yes, I am alive and it has been awhile…

Anyhow, for those that do know me, my fall/winter hibernation is over and now that the holidays are over and I am now plowing forward into the New Year, I would love to know what you guys expect from the upcoming year regarding FTF tournaments, events and the like.

I also know that the change in location/format of the AHC is not setting to well with some of yuns, but it is what it is and we will have to deal with it. Just as we have the last 14 years of playing AA FTF at GEN CON…we have to deal with the way the dice roll and live with it. And you guys have been great throughout!

Some things to possibly look forward to: More metal Boards for GEN CON this year (keep your fingers crossed), a new classic AA tourney, Guadalcanal, a possible new format for some of the old games (Europe/Pacific/D-Day) and much more. This will be the 15th year for me running tourneys at GEN CON so I hope to make it a bit special…

Fire away and let me know what is on your mind as well. I also have NOT set a date for The Spring Gathering VI in Cincinnati but would like to do so very soon so thoughts and opinions on what weekends are better always helps. We are looking at the first weekend in April.

The Smoreyswamp is still up and running and update are forthcoming so keep checking for new updates…

Hi all, I just bought a Atari War Hits Deluxe pack today with Axis and Allies, Act of War and Kingdoms in it, I cant seem to install Axis and Allies becaus eit is asking for a CD Key, there is not one in the pack, any help greatly appreciated on how to get it working!!

Dude there is more than one axis and allies game. I like the original. (haven’t played any of the others)

NO it doesnt!!! when a battleship gets an attack during an amphibous landing, the unit it destroys, if it succeds (and there is a 66% chance of that) the unit gets no retaliation at all!!! at least those are the rules that came with the board game, apparently everyone around here is accustomed to changing he rules. also, the battleship is not involved in battle so it cannot be destroyed. it shoots ground cover for the freighters and the amphibious landers.

well, you’re right in your last sentance.
and kind of right in your second-to-last sentance (although Hasbro/Avalon Hill does make some suggestions for “evening out the playing field”. As for your first 2 statements - they’re wrong, although i’m curious as to which version of the game you received this rule with.

Well I can agree with you on Japan if you want to play the Axis, but when I was sent to play England (and this was actually my first game), I was sent back home with a stinging defeat. The main problem, is that even with US support, chances are that England is going to have the socks knocked off them. I went to Africa, I lost. I built a navy, lost that to the Luftwaffe. I tried building an IC in India and the Japanese managed to take that over. By the end of the third round, I had almost lost all my territories in Africa and SE Asia. For the rest of the game, I mainly sent forces to Russia to help them defend against Germany – not very fun.
