I believe DJensen is redesigning it.

Not an easy task, although I'm not quite sure why he didn't just leave the old one up until he was completed with the new one... huh

About a month and a half or so ago it was deleted.

You'd have to ask him. He's working pretty hard right now on it. I believe he is trying to devise a method to make it much easier to update, previous to him deleting it, vast amounts of time would be required for a small update.

i thought about trying one, but they look kinda complicated, how does it work? do you get to use a board somehow (like the A&A pc game screen?) or do you just write everything you do down? that would be pretty hard. i'd rather play on the zone, but the only problem is that i have iron blitz edition, and NOBODY plays it b/c they think it has bugs in it.

The Iron Blitz edition CD-Rom should have come with the original version on a second CD.

Also, there are good mapping tools for keeping track of you map without having to use a board but there is no automated way to describe your movements.  You have to do that part manually. It's slow but it's not so bad.

There are two good ways to keep track of the board in a PBE game:

1)  www.motcreations.com  download the mapview program then go to http://aamc.net/dloads.shtml and download the module (the second file on the page) and put the module in the "modules" directory of the mapview program.    Mapview has many modules that can be used for several games (chess, aaae, .....)

-or-

2).  http://aamc.net/dloads.shtml  and download the "aaamap v.96 Beta".

Mapview has a MUCH better graphical interface (the aaamap is pretty rough around the edges), but aaamap has a really great feature that counts all the units on the board, so you can see exactly how the world stacks up at any given moment.  I think I prefer mapview, mostly because of the graphics and because you can add as many maps as you want to a single file so you can see how the board progresses by turn, but with the aaamap, you have to save each turn under a differnt name see to game progression.

my iron blitz edition did come w/ the original, but for some reason it wouldn't work on the zone, and then this kid stole it from me(told me he was borrowing it for the weekend; that was last february)
