OK, I am fully aware that air/naval pieces can autokill trannies unescorted by defending warships. But how & when?

    May the attacking force:

    • …move through the seazone containing the trannies, autokill them, and then move further (into a ‘real’ battle for example)

    • …move through the seazone in noncombat movement phase, autokill the trannies, and move further ? (for example, air returning from a battle)

…I’ve got some other situation in mind. I’ll get back with them too…

  • I am pretty sure the auto-kill is considered to be an actual battle.
So it is just with other battles, only allowed in Combat Movement.

  • It counts as combat see the side bar on page 19 of the rulebook.

OK, so it’s a combat move.
But can you continue moving, after the autokill?

No.  Just like you cannot keep moving your tank after you kill a defending AA Gun or Industrial Complex.

  • Whew,
I was afraid that this topic was about mowing down those guys wearing dresses and high heels.  I mean - they’re worth about 10 points apiece (more if they are aware you are aiming your car at them), but it seemed really politically incorrect.

  • Official Q&A

A44bigdog and Jennifer are correct.  Destroying a defenseless transport is a combat action.  It requires a dedicated battle to accomplish it, so all combat movement must be completed before doing so.
