Having Eire gives you no advantage whatsoever other than making your territory look bigger. When I play against the computer, I take all the neutral countries like Mongolia, Afghanistan, and Rio de Oro just so it will all be one colour and look nicer.

Colombia can be useful if you've got to to take out an US transport with a German Bomber and have no time to relocate it properly. Otherwise it cannot return at all...

(Since Kamikaze runs are not allowed.)

Costly?  Yes, it will be blown away on the ground the turn after by any US fighters or bombers... But if you just have to obliterate them transport....

It also forces to US to support the transport in the eastern seazone...

Ex. I take one four against 4 one's any day, considering the investment..
