I just played this game for the first time.  I understand how the convoy centers work, but I'm not sure how the convoy routes work in A&AP Can anyone explain?

Thanks

Certainly.  You've probably noticed that all the convoy routes have coresponding land territory bording it.  This means that in order to collect income from that territory one must control both the territory and and the convoy route.  For example: By gaining control of the seazone surounding the Philipeans the Japanese can cut off the islands from the US.  This means that the US will not collect any income from the Philipeans while Japan retains control of the convoy route.  This does not, however, mean that Japan will collect that income yet; in order for that to happen the islands and the convoy route must be controled.  I hope that cleared it up; convoy routes can add a whole other dimension to the game if played correctly.
