Well what would you suppose I do with my Indian infantry and fighter? Should I attack Burma with it? Infantry and fighters both defend better. And why not strafe WE? Two fighters against two infantry will win with one fighter gone, and the US can land two infantry and fighter to defend and your bomber goes to the UK. Your Rhodesian infantrywould also attack alongside your Syria-Iraq infantry. And Germany wouldn’t be able to build in Karelia in G2, because Russia would counterattack with four inf, four tanks, and a fighter. And if you would win every time as Axis, the how come I play as Allies and always win?

Several options:

1)  Kwangbang - take Man on R1 and attack Kwang on UK 1 with 2 inf, 1 ftr
2)  Send EGy forces and Ind forces to Per for and army of 4 inf, 1 arm (land ftr wherever)
3)  Counter Egy if germany took on rd 1 you can counter with 3 inf, 1 ftr, 1 bom
4)  Reinforce Ken/Rho with the 2 inf.
5)  Reinforce Sin with the 2 inf

Do not underestemat a tactical retreat in Asia (for the Allies).  This is often how you will need to play to win once you start introducing bids.

Don’t consider attacking WE rd 3 or later.

Round 1 (allies) - buy set up units (ie AC for UK, and trns for UK/US)
Round 2 - land in afr (buy more trans)
Round 3 - go to Fin
Round 4 - take WE (or continue to ship to Fin then move to Kar)
Round 5 - repeat rd 4, etc.

I prefer just threatening (bluffing at) WE and continuing to send troops to Fin and Kar so you can do a 1-2-3 punch on EE (or reinforce Mos if necessary)

Yeah but I also disagree with you so take it for what it is. As DM said if it were so easy to win with the Axis the play by email clubs would have lower bids to be the Axis as it is they currently stand at 24+! You’d think that is a lot but not really if you know how to win as the Allies. Even in RR you still need a substantial bid I’d say 14-15, and would always be willing to give the Axis a little to much than play as them with too little.

I haven’t read all the posts, but what about this.

I think in general, the ic in india is a waste. And the ic in SA, really can’t do as much as it really needs to do. IF you as the allies are going to muck around in africa you need shuck shucking in 6 or so infantry each turn. The two tanks you can crank out of sa, are really of not much consequence…

SO, uk doesn’t buy an ic on t1. It buys a carrier and a transport. And us flys its planes onto it on its turn. And if its still alive, on t1, us moves its transport into uk’s sz and dumps its 2 infantry in uk or it just moves empty and the 2 inf move to eastern canada. Basically its like moving the uk’s second turn in the essays up to its first turn.

Then the shuck can possibly begin in small amounts in t2, as opposed to t1. And if germany throws its airforce at the carrier in t2, you can be sure to whittle down some of those fighters and bombers, even if the carrier, 2 transports and the two fighters die.

Annnnnnnnnnd, if the carrier, two transports (1 uk (built in t1) and 1 us (original)) and fighters in the sz are gone after germanys t2, then uk buys ANOTHER carrier on t2, and RUSSIA flys its two planes (having been moved to karelia in russ t1) onto it. Then the us shuck can begin in earnest on the us t2 regardless of whether there’s any german airforce left.

This friend of mine that I play against always builds 3 transports and 3 tanks per round with the US and keeps sending that force to Algeria. He loses tanks along the way, less later in the game, sending them to Persia. This totally keeps Germany out of Africa, and stops Japan in Asia later as well.

Naval guns are pretty accurate. But they’re more used in mass saturation then precision strikes. Sometimes you don’t have access to the neccessary tacticle information to put out such strikes. Besides, mass saturation is useful just too flatten all of the enemy’s defenses in one stroke. The BB has it’s own cruise missile to do precision bombing.

On the contrary, thug, the Germans need their Med. navy as long as possible to build defensive might in Africa. The longer they hold Africa the greater their income and the more successful the Germans will be.
