1  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Global 1940 / Re: Community Links for Global 1940 Related files on: October 04, 2011, 05:56:40 am
These are alpha 2 rules.  I'll post my alpha 3 charts soon....
2  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Global 1940 / Re: Basic Movement (Blitzing & Retreating) Questions on: July 15, 2011, 10:20:47 am
You can blitz Pro Neutrals like any other territory.  They are enemy controlled, and if they have no units in them, consider them yours.

Only if they've previously have activated the standing army (and it had an army) in it. And then it is a non-combat move and you must stop when entering.

I actualluy new the answers to all of these I was trying to answer some questions and prove a point to my group.  I'm really suprized how many people really don't know the blitzing rules.  You can blitz an enemy's neutral if it has no units.  The above answer doesn't make since.  "If it has previously have been activated..." would mean it's not a nuetral any more.  Also confusing the issue is many answers talked about non-combat moves and friendly neutrals, when none of that was in the question.  Kieghund if you would please provide an official answer.  Thanx, and thanx to all who provided input.
3  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Global 1940 / Basic Movement (Blitzing & Retreating) Questions on: July 12, 2011, 06:50:29 pm
I know these are basic movement questions but I can't find them on the site and just want to settle the questions in our play group.  Looking for official answers.  Thanx.....

1. Can a tank, on it's non-combat move, take its two moves to go through a territory that was just captured from the enemy during the combat move, to get to a friedly territory on the other side of the newly captured territory?

2. Just like the first question; at sea, can a ship takes its non-combat moves to go through a sea zone that was just cleared of enemy ships during the combat move, to get to an clear zone on the other side?

3. Can a tank blitz through an enemy's neutral territory if the territory has no unts in it?

4. If ground units are attacking form severial territories, and they choose to retreat, do they all have to retreat to "one" territory from one of which they came, even if causes an advanced movement in your ground units that you used for your benifit, or do they have to each retreat to the territories that they started from?

4  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Global 1940 / Re: Italy Alpha 2 on: June 02, 2011, 09:22:04 am
I get a confused when I see people state that Italy is too weak.  Whenever I play a game, percentage wise from their start position Italy does better than Germany and places close if not better than Japan.  In round UK1 the UK can inflect some damage on the Italian Med fleet but after that the Italian’s can take out what’s left of the UK fleet.   I don’t ever see Italy having a problem of taking over all of North Africa including Egypt, clearing the Med of all enemy war ships, and controlling 3 of the 4 counties named for that objective by round three.  Italy’s income has gone from 10 IPC’s to over 30 in three moves and no one yet to slow them down till the US comes across the Atlantic.  I either play Italy very good or I suck as the allies trying to stop them.

Hey Field Marshal, no problem in posting on other site, I put them out here to share.....  Sorry so long in getting back to ya, I hadn't been on here for a while.

I have another idea that I'm might post soon if there's am intrest.....  It's two documents that I use to track the game for fun and if there is a mistake you can refer back.  The're simple, I didn't want it to be time comsuming.  One is a grahpic global map and I just fill in the territories as they change powers.  It interesting after a game to flip through the images and watch how this changed hands and played out.  The other is an exec spredsheet that tracks the powers IPC count, keeping a real time comparison of the balance of power with percentages and graphs created when the IPC numers are put in.

Battle Boards

Again, as many of my chart are drawn they may not be for advanced players.  They may find them to busy, however I designed these to be used by less experienced players; they have all the combat rules on the boards to include special rules like art support of inf/mech and Weapons Development.  So it’s not only to place units for a more complex battle but also to remind a player of the rules.

I made a new thread for this due to too many errors on the other charts.  The NO chart should be correct now (I hope); increased the font on IPC value and added graphics to all NO marks.  I also made a white background version.  Some of the carts are still to large; will have links to high resolution versions.
