Was talking to a friend at work about war gaming one day and he said I got a game to show you. It was the 1984 version and I was pissed because I always wanted to play war games and asked him when this game came out. Always played with the army guys and tanks, but never saw this game ever. So we played right away and that was it. Hooked forever! Then I told him I could check on internet and see what I could find out about axis and allies. We bought the revised game and played 2 games and believe it I won both games as axis. Just figured to attack right away with Germany. He used to get pissed. Then came across a advanced 12 dice game by IL. We played that game once and I won with axis again. He was pissed. I told him you got to play like it happened in real life somewhat. Now playing a advanced game with different rules and setup from somebody on this site. ^600 starting pieces and 4 x 8' map. Have 5 of IL's maps and tiger's with over 5000 pieces from all the games. For me the advanced games are the most awesome do to pieces and all the things that go on. I'm 51 and just started playing 4 years ago. Thanks to IL, Crus, and the rest of you guys for all the advice and ways to play and new pieces to buy (soon HBG ) and rules to use.

If it was me I would of remove it. He's already admitting its killed. So now you have to suck it up so you don't lose a player and friend. Next time remove all pieces for all combat and put onto the battle board. Theres times we mess up something like that and just redo the combat. You have to find a happy medium or we all ain't going to get along. Yes that is BS.

Axis & Allies / House Rules / Planes attacking more than 1 territory.

Have plane or planes move to territory, attack for 1 round and then decide if plane or planes are staying, retreating  or leaving to attack another territory. If plane leaves to attack another territory, it has to decide after the first round of combat. Then it attacks 1 round in that territory and then it can leave to attack 1 more territory. It still can move only 4 spaces for fighters and if using for bombers 6 spaces. Then if you play with tech, you could get long range aircraft and then move your 6 or 8 total spaces. You can only attack for one round if you keep moving to other territorys or sea zones. It help if you needed a little more air support in another territory if you think you were going to lose it. So this is not a good idea?

We use sea planes for reconnaissance. Sm plane flies 4 spaces, Lg plane flies 6 spaces. You have to use them to find fleet before you can attack. Roll 1 die for each plane. A 3 or less is that you have found the ship or ships and now you can attack. and theses planes do not attack. Defend at 2 and can leave combat after 1st round.

Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: Printing IL's map on A4 labels?

IL is right. Got all my maps 3 x 6, 4 x 8 printed on vinyl. Banner Material. Cost of 3 x 6 map $75.00 and 4 x 8 map $107.00. They also can format it so you don't lose any territories. They once forgot to shrink whole map to 3 x 6 when I had a 4 x 8 foot map in that size file. Lost a bunch of territoies because they didn't shrink file. It was Tigerman's old map.
