I have had the pleasure of playing a few games in the TwistedAries Bunker with these fine towers... They are shocking in person. VERY COOL
Oh no!!!!!!! You have played with another dice tower?!?!?!??!?!?!?!!!!!!!! I am crushed! No worries Craig. He was hogtied, gagged and *forced* to use them against his will. Was he searched at the door and forced to turn over his dice tower? I think he was gagged just so everyone else wouldn't have to listen to him talk. It had nothing to do with dice towers. I was just trying to be nice. Way to ruin it!

wow i think i want to get the anniversary adition now....
Good luck unless they make new copies. I saw one at a game store recently in a brown cardboard box(as if it had been shipped in) with an 8.5 X 11 paper taped on for the cover art selling for $250 American. Ugh yes. They're going up over $300 on EBay too .. insanity i tell you!

what comes with the anniversary adition more stuff then the other one?
A much bigger board, some slightly different rules (which I believe all transfered over to spring 1942 edition?) and a much nicer presentation (boxes for each countries pieces, paper money, stuff like that).

As far as I know, the carrier can take hits during combat. However, once damaged they can no longer land planes on their deck (or have planes take off from them until repaired).
Transports cannot take hits in combat. If you lose the battle, your transports will simply be gone (assuming the opposing force has any units left to take them out).

We had 2 games going simultaneously last night ..
Board #1 was very Japan heavy up until about 3/4 of the way through the game, at which point things started to go horribly wrong for him, and the allies managed to slowly claw their way back (this particular game took almost 8 hours to play) and win the day. Japan decided to hit the US west coast at the start of round 3 which caused a lot of damage and great upset, cornering the US primarily in san fransisco for a large portion of the game.
Board #2 was an allied victory almost all the way. Japan rolled over China for the first 3 turns, otherwise ignoring the pacific (with some tactical buys for his fleet/air force, but clearly not enough). Once the allies entered the war in turn 4 however, Japan was on the constant retreat up until the US decimated her fleet in the sea of Japan, allowing the UK to waltz in and take over Tokyo with almost no fight.
Over-all : 2 games .. 2 allied wins (so far)

Is it working properly? The only file that I can find is a .txt file that shows the map and that's it...no setup at all.
Same thing here. I see 2 .txt files and nothing more ... what's up? (ps : love this app! this is the first I've seen of it. The MB A&A works fine, but pacific1940 .. nada)
