Some of the Italians in the Med. area. The plastic is a might softer then the OOB units. A few of the subs and destroyers were bent. I can bend them back but thet do not stay straight. A heat gun will be required to fix them but you will have to be very carefull with the heat. Might have to use a little weight on them till they cool. The weight cannot be too much as it might mash the masts and conning towers.
A little trick for straightening and forming plastic (and getting it to stay) is to have a bowl of ice water nearby. Heat up the plastic just enough to allow it to bend to the shape you want then immediately dunk it in the ice water. If done right this *should* make it hold the new shape without ever going back to what it was before. I've had to do this with several of my OOB pieces in the past.

If that is the case, then you will have my money for this as well.
I know you have said that the unit colours will match the combat dice (thanks for the set you sent with my Italians, by the way), but it is hard to judge how well the colour matches Hasbro's pieces. How close is your UK colour to Hasbro's?
And without looking through180 pages, where do you have France in the que?
Cheers
Color of the (or at least my) combat dice is (pretty close to) exact to AA50th Anniversary edition UK pieces. Which I believe are the same as the 1940 edition pieces as well.

The each FMG nation set includes commanders Yes I know but you have to buy the whole set. Anyway I have 2 figurines with the same pose in my Italian set. I think a set with at least 2 commanders per major power will be a good seller.
You won't have to buy the whole set. FMG and HBG have a deal to sell individual pieces through HBG (mentioned some time ago in that massively long thread where everything gets lost).

The last time I looked at shipping pieces to the US via CanadaPost/USPS, it was going to be almost $10 anyway. Just looking up the smallest package rate with the lightest weight on their website shows how insane some of the costs of shipping are. And that's not even expedited service or insured/verified. Just regular parcel mail.
UPS from Canada to the US is probably cheaper in most cases.
Shipping a package from the US to Canada via First Class International is not much more then shipping within the US. As long as it can go First Class mail under 13oz. I ship many OOB pieces all over the world via Ebay. My guess is it doesn't hurt that USPS works at a loss. It most certainly doesnt hurt the person doing the mailing, that's for sure. Shipping a parcel from here (just outside of Toronto, Ontario) to let's say Michigan .. 3 inches x 3 inches x 1 inch (obviously smaller than a parcel full of these pieces) that ways 1/10th of a pound would cost (insurance not included, "us expedited parcel 4-5 business days") would run $17.39 according to the Canada Post website. Ouch.

We struggle to keep shipping costs down. As we are shipping from Canada... I think our prices on UPS and delivery times are quite remarkable (considering it is an international shipment)
We "win / lose" with our flat rate shipping. On some orders we will make $1... others we lose a $1. But I think it is the best we can do for our US customers with access to USPS services (Which operates at a loss by the way)

I know you will Jeremy but please post when they arrive as we are breathlessly waiting for these. Also will you open the pre-order from Germany right after Italy shows up? Thanks again.
Release of COMBAT UNITS - ITALY is SO CLOSE... that I can confidently open up pre-orders for COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY. If you have not ordered COMBAT UNITS - ITALY yet... add COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY to your order to save on shipping! Here is the link to the product page. http://www.fieldmarshalgames.com/product/field-marshal-combat-units-germany/Once again, I can not guarantee the release date of COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY, but I can tell you the project is moving far faster than ITALY was. Thanks again for your support of FMG Jeremy Jeremy, if I do the pre-order for COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY, does that mean that when you get the COMBAT UNITS - ITALY and the France/ ANZAC COMBAT DICE that I will have to wait until COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY are released before I get anything? If this is the case, then I just can't do this pre-order. It's already been a really long time and I really want my COMBAT UNITS - ITALY and COMBAT DICE. We don't know how much longer it will be before COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY will actually be released and I just can't wait that much longer. Is it possible to do a pre-order for COMBAT UNITS - GERMANY and make it a separate order? I would prefer to pay a little extra shipping and get my Italians and Combat Dice sooner. I gather from his post and from a bit of personal opinion thrown in that if you order Italy + Germany NOW, you will be able to get them both at the same time (and save on shipping) with the pre-order pricing. If you've ALREADY ordered Italy, it will be shipped out to you as soon as it arrives to FMG (and so you wouldn't be adding Germany to it if you've already ordered Italy and have been waiting). That's my take anyway. Edit : Especially after reading the Germany Pre-Order post and this quote "If you have not yet ordered COMBAT UNITS - ITALY, you can pre-order GERMANY also and save on shipping! "

Contracts enforceable in China? I doubt it. Good luck on that one!
Very well. I'm sure it's a two way street then. The factory does not deliver product in a timely fashion (on the dates the factory themselves provided), they don't get paid. Contract or no. I'm sure that's incentive enough to get things done in time. If not, use of a different company is likely in order.

Normally factories like this will make you pay for tooling and you own the tooling. There are lots of quality injection mold companies out there that can do the job I'm sure.
You might want to make sure you have a new company lined up who sounds reasonably confident that they can use another company's molds before you cut the old one loose. Show them your sample pieces and they should be able to figure out how the molds work by inspecting the parting lines and fill positions.
Matching colors might be the biggest hurdle. Too bad that other company can't get it together.
It is just embarrassing at this point. THEY gave me a date of AUG 10th. It was THEIR date! So I hinted that release "could" be SEPT 10th.... giving them an entire MONTH extra just in case. They have not returned my last inquiry... which means they are not done yet and know I will blast them. I believe revisiting your contract with this company is in order. Perhaps a rider that states they do not get paid until certain objectives are met, on time (or in a timely manner). If those objectives are not met in a timely manner, then concessions need to be made in your favor. If not, then you take your molds and go elsewhere (although that unfortunately involves incurring extra cost, no company truely worth being in business is going to risk losing business)

Its Labor Day, any word on that September release?
On another thread, Jeremy gave a date of 9/20/2011, but didn't actually say that was the release date. On FMG's website, it says a "September Release" for the Italian units. So, I guess we all have a little longer to wait.
In the context of the 9/20/2011 date given I'm assuming it was a release date.

Two weeks and only one sale is far from a dilema to be honest. I'd be elated at something like this selling one copy in the first two weeks.
Most games don't sell quickly, especially without national/international advertising, and most definately not without being a "complete" game (Box, Artwork, rule book, game board and all the pieces needed to play the game). And even then they tend to sell slowly (through retail outlets).
That's just my two cents on the subject.

A new Shogun game? Hmmm, interesting. I wonder how much it will differ from Milton Bradley's Shogun.
Except for the name it looks identical. I wouldn't be surprised as I think this is the 3rd or 4th itteration of that game now (Shogun, Samurai Swords, ?, Ikusa <- newest version). From the games website ... IkusaIt is the sixteenth century in feudal Japan, where war rages across the land. Amid the chaos and conflict, you have risen to power as one of five warlords mighty enough to conquer and control the whole empire. Your victory depends on how expertly you extend your domain while defending it from your enemies. Send your daimyo leaders, samurai, and ashigaru warriors into battle to seize new provinces and lay siege to castles. Spend your hard-won treasury on building fortifications and bolstering your forces with ronin and ninja. Prove the strength of your strategy, defeat your rivals, and earn the exalted title of Shogun. Set details: The classic rules of this game have not been changed – still a challenge for any strategy board gamer. The box and game board design have been radically improved. The game board has a new "period feel." All of the classic sculptures used for the figures are back with new colors. Release Date: July 26th, 2011
