IL,

A great number of people could argue that activly participating on a forum for a board game would be childish yet here we are.

My opinions on the dice tower:

1) I think they take up less room then rolling normally.
2) There isn't a chance of pushing the units around if the dice roll onto the board.
3) Dice don't roll off of the table onto the floor.
4) You don't ever need to call a ref to make a call on a shody dice rolling player.

"The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march."

That's hilarious LT!!

I got all of these quotes from here:    http://despair.com/

They have a line of "demotivators."  The creator modeled them after the successories you see in fancy offices.  He says that true motivation comes from within so only companies with a band-aid fix it approach and disposable income use them.  (like large US car companies and banks  cheesy)

Boy, for us color challenged persons, even the above painted units are a challenge.

I like primary colors the best or at least colors which are very distinguishable from

each other.

Differences in shadings which are so subtle, make it very hard to play at times.

I agree but I also think that's what seperates this games units from the units in risk.

I'd like to but I have to wait until the budget will allow it.

(At the risk of becoming political) Unlike the government I have a budget I have to stay within.

Mr. Jackson is going to be typecast again

Well of course he will say: "Im tired of this -blank- and im not taking it anymore"

He must say that in everyone of his movies because it would be like Gary Coleman NOT saying "what choo talking about Willis"  now how can you imagine Gary not saying that?

If he does not say that line the movie wont make any money.

It would be like Arnold Schwarzenegger not saying "Get Down!"  "Come with me if you want to live!" "Hasta la vista, baby!" or "I'll be back." In Terminator, Terminator 2, Terminator 3, Commando, Preditor, Collateral Damage, The 6th Day, True Lies, Eraser or Total Recall.  cheesy

Jen, why did he decide to "dry up his strategies?"

You are very welcome, and welcome to the forum.  There is a lot of information here for A&A players at every level and variation.  There are also a series of strategies for each game as well you may want to take a look.

A Canidian Shield is when Japan moves to Alaska on J1 or J2 and Germany moves to E Canada on turn 3.  Japan will then move to W Canada and with steller dice move into W US.  The goal is to force the US player to back petal for several rounds and retake N America wile Germany could possibly take the UK.

It's not a highly recomended strategy, but it can work with the right conditions.

I was at my Yahoo email account and I wanted to check to see how the caspian sub group was doing as they have had a lot of information about diffrent things and to my suprise they were no where to be found.

Is my computer acting buggy or did the A&A world lose a big resource?

What I have seen a lot of players do lately is move the Aussy sub to attack the Japanese sub in the Solomon Islands SZ and have the Indian Navy (- the fighter) attack the Japanese transport next to Kwatintang (I know that's not spelled right.) Then move the fighter onto the US Carrier in Hawaii.

This disrupts the Japanese start in the pacific a great deal.

I only put a IC in India when I know the Japanese player is a novice.  I think that S Africa is your best bet but I would wait until your 2nd or 3rd turn.  By then you will know where Germany is planning to go. (Canadian Sheild [US], Sea Lion [UK] or the olde classic Vodka run to Moscow.)

I still haven't played A&A with my group, I played it only once 1v1 with my brother, and we didn't spend our IPC's on AA's and IC's, I was just curious about limitations, so I know in the future  smiley

I'm just busting your chops, again welcome to the forum.
