481  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Pacific / Does my map have a typo? on: August 14, 2008, 12:08:23 pm
I just bought A&AP.  I haven't got it yet it's in the mail.  So I have been playing A&AP on triplea.  It says the WUS space is worth 55IPC's.  Is that correct?

If it is how does the US not steam roll stright for Japan?

482  Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies: D-Day / Re: Axis Wins/Losses on: August 14, 2008, 12:05:25 pm
Does any one have any ideas how we could modify the game so it would be more ballanced?

I was wondering if you used the German reinforment card backwards.  Germany gets all the AMR first and the INF last.  The allies get the INF first and the ARM last.  I also think we should change both sides ARM rolls to revised rules.

Any other ideas?

The biggest and most unlikely place I have recently found was to post a free ad on Craig's list.

I have had 3 people respond in as many days from there.

I am not aware of any online version of A&A that has that bug worked out.

On the A&AP map it shows just a smidgen of Russia as the A&A universal color for nuteral territory.

Did China ever try an uprising that would lead you to think that?  I'm not trying to be mean or any thing but I am asking in sincerity how did you arive at that conclusion?

I have heard it said that this version will be diffrent in how Japan and Russia will be able to interact.

Any thoughts on how that may happen or how they will be able to keep Japan from taking the SFE?

Jermofoot,

I want to thank you for turning me on to this graphic novel.  I have really gotten hooked into it.  I really want to finish it then see the movie.

Thanks again,

492  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition / Re: Italy as a new Axis player on: August 13, 2008, 11:17:59 am
Graig,

The only reason I suggest this method is to ensure the survival of Italy.

The allies often use a 1, 2, 3 punch on Germany Russia doesn't normally benifit from this.  UK makes the initial attack the US takes the territory and Russia reinforces it before Germany's turn.

If Italy were to strike first and Germany take and hold the territory Italy won't grow as an Axis power.  Since we all seem to agree that Italy will start some where around 16 - 24 IPC's they need the income the most.

493  Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies Revised Edition / Re: Dice Query on: August 13, 2008, 10:32:40 am
When you roll for AA fire you roll indivdually.  (This may be cheating but it gets the same end result.  If the attacker has say 3 FTR's and 2 BMR's I will roll 3 dice then two dice).

As for the first issue you addressed I'm not sure what you are asking when I attack I roll in the following pattern.

INF @ 1
ART supported INF & ART @ 2
ARM & FTR @ 3
BMR's @ 4

Defending I roll useing the same method

BMR's @ 1
INF & ART @ 2
ARM @ 3
FTR's @ 4

What if Germany could invade areas in "Italian Sphere of Influance" and give the newly acquired land zones to Italy?

I can see Italy throwing an = force at say Egypt UK has 1 INF left and Germany moves in for the kill making an Axis 1, 2 punch.  This way Italy can expand with the help of Germany.

What say you?
495  Other Forums / World War II History / Why did China have a nonresistance policy? on: August 13, 2008, 07:51:45 am
I have been reading up on my Chinese military history (you know light reading before bed  cheesy)  and read that it was the policy of the Nationalist Government to adhear to a nonresistance rule when dealing with advancing Japanese troops.

Soldiers were encouraged not to fight back, stow weapons and comply with Japanese demands.

I was wondering what the reasoning whould be.  Was it Buddism pushing this?  Did China think that Japan only wanted coastal areas and would stop?

Just wondering your two cents,
