406  Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies Revised Edition / Re: Income Collecting Rule on: August 20, 2008, 09:08:15 am
I think having three teams would make this WWIII scenario very interesting.

huh  Axis players and Allied players were not answers, nor were they involved in the question   huh

It's to bad that some territories aren't needed for bonuses on both sides.

For example lets say E Europe (I know that's revised) is needed by both Russia and Germany to get their bonus. That would add more salt to the wounds on the eastern front.

I just read the first vol.  I ordered the other 9 and they shipped yesterday and should be here on Monday.  I had them sent to my hose by accident so I will have to wait till I get homw to read them.

All that means is I will stay up all night Monday night to read them so I can ask questions here on Tuesday morning.

In this case, a single territory contributes to the world economy three times of its product capability.

Hey, now that we are heading towards a world recession, here's a solution:

World War III!!!!

Let's just all conquer each other , and see our economies prosper again!!!   grin afro

(Isn't this a Karl Marx theory btw  tongue....)
That is awesome... now the real question is who wins WWIII? I'm betting on the US winning.
(What if they made a board game of WW3? Would'nt that be interesting?)

Who would be the major players?

US, UK, Germany, Isreal VS. Russia, China, N. Korea

Plus you would have neutral states.  Oh and maybe this could be a three way war. So it would be: US, UK, Germany, Isreal, India VS.  Russia, China, N. Korea VS. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq.

That would be awesome.
411  Axis & Allies / 1941 Scenario / Re: New Allied Strategies for Anniversary Edition on: August 20, 2008, 06:27:38 am
I wonder if KIF will be the best way to go or not.  Yeah ok you take Italy they lose 10 IPC's.  You still haven't done any thing to the German war machine next door besides let them see you coming and start 100% INF builds in preperation for you.

Going by LHTR's with Italy's capitol gone Germany can take Italian spaces and increase their income without going through the trouble of resurrecting Italy to cut into German profits.

I'll admit I have done that as the allies with Russian spaces.

Would this be pbem (play by email) or real time?
413  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition / Who does AA50 cater to? on: August 20, 2008, 06:10:36 am
The bits and pieces I am reading about the new rules seem complicated.  So I pose the question:

Will this game have a better following with expierenced A&A players who can build on their already established working knowledge of A&A functions?

Or

Will AA50 intise a new group of gamers to bring them into the A&A fold?

I think it is interesting they added this concept from Risk.  Granted its not the entire continent but that wouldn't work in this game.

I do not want to be pedant but CAP means Combat Air Patrol.

That's right Civil Air Patrol are those ROTC wanna-be's the US Air Force has.  They are like glorified boy scouts... Well realistically they are more like explorer scouts.

LT

Civil Air Patrol is not an actual part of the Air Force ROTC program, but there is some affiliation:

http://www.cap.gov/index.cfm

CAP as part of A&A vernacular is Combat Air Patrol.

What actually applies to this discussion- SBRs- is the Escort and Interception Rules from AAP and AAE.  I don't think that they have been included in the Anniversary Edition.

Craig

That's why I called the CAP's ROTC wanna be's.

Axis and Allies Anniversary Edition -1941 scenario (AA51)
Axis and Allies Anniversary Edition -1942 scenario (AA52)

this ok?

Works for me

Yup, CAP allowed fighters to chill in sea zones adjacent to islands, in case any baddies popped up.

The only thing that looks good for the Axis is the Japanese fleet.  However, from the looks of it, the game is very ally-favored.  All of them were, but in Revised, the bid for Axis was 4-8 IPC it seemed.  In Classic, wasn't it like 15-20?  I can see bids being quite high in this game, and all of it going to Italy  wink

Yeah that  would make sence.  In revised normally bid units went to Africa.  Italy is along those lines of play.

My big beef with the new VC's is Ottawa is one of them.

How many N. American VC's do we need?  I think S Africa should have been considered.  Historically it may not even of had a role but it would have made Africa an even more sought after place.

That will be nice that Russia get so discretion as is able to be creative beside the normal build INF and don't loose Moscow routine.
