136  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition / Axis Trifecta Strategy on: January 06, 2009, 07:33:47 am
I’m sure this strategy can be countered but with the addition of Italy it was neat for me to see all three powers closing in on my (the US).

It started as a Canadian Shield…

Japan moved into Alaska and W. Canada with hopes of taking W US

Germany moved into E. Canada with overwhelming force to put pressure on E US.

The neat part was Italy’s role.  They took Brazil w/ 1 INF & 1 ART, West indies 1 INF & 1 ARM and took Panama with 6 INF.  They had a few subs and a loaded CV escorting the transports.

Although Italy brought very little in comparison to the other Axis players I as the US player just couldn’t run to Ottawa. Even if I was able to recover they did manage to take 5 US IPC’s in addition to the 2 that Japan took.

So even though Italy had a small ground force they hit the wallet the hardest.

I think that this was a very interesting poll.

Don't forget Transformers.  I loved those things.

And who could forget the Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle.  cool

Don't forget the compass in the stock.
140  Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies Revised Edition / Carrier FTR question on: December 31, 2008, 05:01:08 am
Hey all,

I know that in the LHTR (V2) that say I was the US the UK could place a FTR on my carrier.  If I as the US chose to move the carrier the UK plane would move as cargo.

Is this the same for the OOB rules?

Thanks,

141  Axis & Allies / Player Help / Re: Where do I find dice towers? on: December 29, 2008, 09:26:12 am
Some folks resist using it or stop if the dice don't go their way though and they feel 'cheated' be being asked/required to use it.

I think the group I'm teaching would like using the accessories of dice towers and custom dice from Field Marshal Games.

Thanks I'll give Graig a PM.

Thanks Bigdog +1.

I think I am going to go to the hard where store.  I want the tower to be able to fold into the base for storage & transporting.  Since I want three of them I think this will be the best way to go.

Lately my family has wanted me to make Russian chicken.  All you do is:

1 bottle of Russian salid dressing,
2 packets of Lipton onion soup mix,
2 small jars of apricot preserves.

I use boneless chicken breast.

My aunt used to put them in the oven I prefer the crock pot.

My 16 month old eats it and he doesn't even like meat.  cool
145  Axis & Allies / Player Help / Where do I find dice towers? on: December 29, 2008, 06:32:31 am
Hey all,

I'm now a moderator for a local A&A game club that's tied with a community funded hands on museum.

I have decided that I would like to buy some dice towers and "lend" them to the center when I moderate.

Some of the older kids wing the dice off the table causing issues.  Example when it hits the ground as a six then they re-roll on the table as a 1.

Other players are acused of "not rolling the dice right."

Any-who I'm looking for some nice dice towers.  By nice I mean durable not made out of an old shoe box type material and at a decent price.

Any idea where I could find any or would I be better off going to the hard where store and making my own?

Thanks,

LT

A44BigDog,

You are correct.  There were 6 flags that flew over Texas.  Some time later a park would be named for that called "Six Flags."

TG you are good to go.

148  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition Cold War/Modern Variant on: December 23, 2008, 12:55:18 pm
I thought it would be cool to make a variant that had three teams.

Team 1

USA
UK (with the whole gang as in A&A)
Isreal

Team 2

Iraq
Saudi
Other Middle East Muslim dominated countries

Team 3

Russia
China
Other Commie countries

Just a thought.

150  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition / Re: Color of the Pieces: what are the paint equivalents/codes/names?? on: December 23, 2008, 12:49:31 pm
That's funny, I thought the colors were:

USSR - brown
UK - brown
Italy - brown
Japan - orangey-brown
USA - green
China - green
