121  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Pacific / Re: looking for a game on: January 08, 2009, 11:08:30 am
I just got AAP for Christmas.  I have played A&A classic and revised for several years.  If you don't mind playing a noob I'd be game for it.

You should send a PM to CaptainJack.  I know he uses TripleA on his Mac.  I don't know of any other A&A players that use Mac's.

123  Axis & Allies / 1941 Scenario / Re: Russian Sacrifice Strategy on: January 08, 2009, 10:02:10 am
If you do try this I wonder if Russia would be better off sending units to China due to its unique way of sprouting INF.  No reason that both Russia and China get taken out the production race.
124  Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies Revised Edition / Re: Freak situation on: January 08, 2009, 07:48:26 am
They can move them anywhere they like, as long as no sea movement is involved and there isn't already an IC there.  Of course, if they're too close to the front lines they run the risk of being captured.  Bear in mind that an IC can only be used to produce units if the territory that it's in was owned by the USSR at the beginning of the turn.

I was just thinking if Russia wanted to could they move there IC to Norway if they took it.  Then they would be some what sheltered from direct German assult and they would be aided by the UK.

Joe +1 karma for thinking outside the box.

As for a wolf pack I agree with TG Moses 3 Subs period make a pack

In ref. to destroyers vs. subs.  I think that if 3 or more destroyers are present that they would work like a doplar system.  They would triangulate (sp) that SZ and have a good idea of what was going on underwater.

Since we are on the topic of Russia's moving IC's if Russia wanted to move them West could they?

I understood this to be a defencive NO but could they use it to help them bring the war to Germany?

Zhukov,

If all that's true why did Patton feel that due to politics he was not allowed to take Berlin?  From what I have read about him he felt like he was coasting to allow the Soviets to catch up.

I just think it was neat to see Italy augment an already exhisting strategy.  Yeah it was more of an endgame deal but I am sopprised more and more every day how Italy can make it a better game even with limited income and starting units.

Russia had fallen and the UK only had London and Madigascar left.  Germany had a huge fleet around London so putting boats in the water with 9 IPC's wasn't a good idea.  They would just buy 3 INF per turn.

All Russia had left was the sub.
130  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition / Re: Should Germany take Brazil G2? on: January 06, 2009, 12:43:51 pm
Sorry you all are correct there is a bit of a UK fleet in the way.  So G1 wouldn't work.  G2 however depending on board conditions it would be possible.

Thanks for the Karma.

I was looking at the map and I saw that Germany could do it.  1 INF lost wouldn't be a big deal as he would have payed for himself the first round.

I was thinking more of the transport.  undecided  It's gunna to be toast when the US makes there move.
But on the flip side of that what ever unit(s) (I know transports don't defend I was anticipating the retaking of Brazil.) the US sends to reclaim that space is one less round that they will be involved in the rest of the war.

Thats why I am torn on this decision.

132  Axis & Allies / Software / PBEM TripleA question on: January 06, 2009, 11:23:56 am
I just started a PBEM game in the board game section of this site.  I have never done this before.  I can figure out how to get the link play my player but how do I post the link so the other player can use it?

+1 Karma to any one who can answer.

Thanks,

Yeah your correct.  I have probably explained this before.  I grew up in California so when I think ocean I think Pacific.  You would think now that I have lived in New York for 8 years I would break that habit and know better.  grin

Hmm... That's a hard one.  I had to go with Turkey.  Hitler wanted Moscow as a prize so having an ally there just made sence.  But Spain would have to be a close second to help keep the allies out of Europe.

Edit:  Turkey would also be better because Spain is so exposed to the <edit>Atlantic<edit>.  Turkey is at Germany's and Italy's back door much harder for the allies to get to since they would have to go around.  Having a second direct path by sea to Russia would have been greatly desired by Hitler. End Edit.
