Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies Revised Edition / Re: All tapped out for strategies? Is it Game Over?

I have found to keep the game fresh and interesting you need to constantly bring new people into it. The up side is they all have their own approach to the game. The down side is if they have never played before you tend to slaughter them without even trying for some time this may lead to their disintres in the game or an overwhelming urge to beat the one who introduced them to it down. So it can be a blessing and a curse.

Axis & Allies Miniatures / A&A Miniatures (Original) / Re: Getting started

Yeah I just looked at the list of units and stats. There are 48 diffrent units listed!!!
Band of Brothers is bad a**! My wife even liked it. Its about as cheep as getting started in AAM.
What would you guys consider as good fodder units and good auxiliary units? I mean there are a lot to choose from I don't want to get stuck buying a legion of the crappy INF that don't have rifles and have to attack with knifes. (I hope there isn't a unit like that but you get my point.) And what would be a good auxiliary units be by that I mean like what a fighter is to the A&A games its versatile gets more blood for the buck and if you do your move correctly won't get killed.
And yet another question. How do you deploy your troops in AAM? Do they all start on the board like in the other A&A games, or do you leave a bit of mystery flanting your versatility of units waiting to be called at a whim?

ncscswitch,
Thank you for your wisdom, your right my bad.
So here is a follow up question to the KJF debate. Lets say Japan knows it (lets not discuss how they just know the allies have it out for them) Does Japan go Navy or Army?

Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies 2nd Edition / Re: which country is the hardest....

I would have to say putting all the countries in order of hardest to easiest I think it would look like this:
Russia, b/c its got both Axis countires at eather side
Germany, falls into the same situation as Russia for the most part, but it has a much higher income
UK, I picked them next b/c it would take some time to muster up a force and get them into place to retake or hold most of their territories
Japan would have to be next, I put them in fourth b/c their empire is much more consolidated then the UK, and they have the biggest advantage of being able to see a pending invasion at least 3 turns in advance.
Lastly the USA what can I say for the most part in the real WWII the US was only as involved as they wanted to be. They have the highest income and have to fight the least to hold it, for example if Japan took Midway and Hawaii the us is only out 1 IPC. And like Japan ( but not to the degree in my opinion) they can see an invasion looming on the horizon.
Thats my two cents,

Axis & Allies / Axis and Allies Revised Edition / Re: Japan counters to a West Russia stack

I guess the reason I have always taken the back door approach to attacking Germany via Russia is b/c from my experience US and/or UK can take WE but Germany just reallocates forces to WE instead of sending them to the Russian front. In the end I see it as Germany is going to buy those troops any way whats it matter where they are fought? So I pick the Russian front another reason being lets just say Russia and Germany are going one for one (not likely but for sake of debate lets just say its so) any UK or US forces are just icing on the cake to repel Germany. Then I tend to be bi-est to my Allied 1, 2, 3 punch. It also works when the Axis are taking down Moscow, lead with Germany and mop up with Japan before Russia gets their turn. I don't think I would rather Japan have the capital I think Germany should take it in order to deal with Great Britain on their door step, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I don't know as I would ever advise an invasion of WE. Yeah it forces Germany to reinforce it in the event that could happen but I like putting US troops into Norway and moving them to the front line. I prefer this method b/c lets say UK forces on Russia's front line make a strafe attack, US forces take the front line forward then Russia reinforces it before Germany gets a turn. This way all 3 allied powers can push together thus making their consolidated efforts more effective.

I didn't come to hate ether but I feel like Tarantino's movie belong in the Christmas bin. Watch them once a year and put them away till next year. I don't think there is a movie soundtrack of his I don't own, good music selection.
I do have an honest question for you Tarantino fans:
Is Reservoir Dogs part 1 and Pulp Fiction part 2? This has been the topic of debate for some time in the social circles I run in. The reason we thought this was a possibility was b/c we thought that Marcellus Wallace's soul was what was in the brief case. The legend I heard was Marcellus sold his soul to the devil for a lot of money. He made some deals that worked out in his favor and made enough money to buy it back in Pulp Fiction.
I'm I reading to deep into this or have you die hard fans come across this myth?
thanks,
