The people who live there are all player haters.(jk)
Oh you mean in terms of WW2 history?
The UK invaded Iraq in May 1941 because a group pro-nazi generals had taken over. UK also needed Iraq as a base to attack Axis French cotrolled Syria. Helped by the Free French the Allies invaded and conquered Syria in June 1942 and about 1,000 died on each side.
Guderian writes that Hitler considered basing German aircraft and landing German troops in Syria.
The Soveits and UK invaded Iran at about this time for similiar reasons. and if you have covered Africa then you know all about the fighting in Egypt.
I cant think of any other major events except for the Tehran Confrence in late 1943 in which the Big Three met for the first time.

I loved Band of Brothers(in my top 5 war movies)!
I was hoping Pacific would be just as good but...
Its a soap opera.
The intro credits are stupid and like ten minutes long! The map at the begining is awk. Band of Brothers is so much better. I apprecaite the battle scenes, but they are still not what they could be. It seems too disjointed and i dont find it as compelling as BoB, maybe that was just the nature of the island campaigns however.
I would have probably stopped watching it by now, but James Badge Dale "Peaches" is my cousin so its cool seeing him on TV. He has been in 24 and other TV shows and he was the other mole in the Departed.

Larry's exact words on the subject
"What I did: A territory on the map is either controlled and contributing to one power or the other. If not, they are either neutral, neutral and pro- Axis or neutral and pro ally.
Finland – Presently Finland is being carried as Germany territory for purposes of German IPC income and starting positions. Technically I know this is technically not correct. I don’t want any automatic status changes based on Barbarossa. If I did it this way Finland would require a special rule. Not actually neutral and not actually occupied it would require a special status on the map. I’m not interested in going there with this game. Talk me out of it if you like.
Hungary – Presented as a German controlled territory.
Romania – Presented as a German controlled territory.
Bulgaria – Presently as pro- Axis neutral
Slovakia or Slovakia/Hungary is presented as a German controlled territory"
Maybe he changed his mind on finland.

From what I remember Larry has dropped that Bulgaria and Iraq are pro-axis neutrals, while Greece and Iran are pro-ally.
He has also mentioned that Hungary, Romania and Finland are treated as oriningaly owned Germany territory.
Besides the four mentioned above I imagine most if not all the neutrals are strick neutrals
Spain and Turkey are defenetly strick neutrals.

I dont know,
I think it essentialy does the same think as I said above except I think its slightly more confusing and it deviates from how damage is calcuated for other units and facilities.

Railway = no cost.
In the rules I presented many railroads wont have a cost assuming they are added to the initial setup. However some railroads were built during the war like by the Japanese in Burma, so for that you have to pay 6-15 ipc per rail connection. I feel thats just as simple and indeed more interesting than just having rail streagth directly connected to the ICs. How does bombing Japan directly take out railroads in Burma?
