After watching some of the reviews and the problems with this edition I’m 90% decided to wait for 2nd Edition. What do you think the chances of a 2nd Edition being released?

Is this a legitimate strategy?
U.S. has a fleet in the sea zone off the coast of Japan and will conduct an amphibious assault on it’s next turn. On Japan’s mobilize units phase, they place 1 cheap destroyer in each sea zone along japan’s coast to at least stop the bombardment. Is this a legitimate move?

Easiest way to teach this game to someone?
I play the live board game with a friend about once a week… though we’ve wanted to bring in more players to try and get a full game, I find this to be very difficult to try and teach to someone who’s brand new to the game. Is the easiest way to teach it to let the new player play Russia since they don’t really have to deal with navy and air force too much? Or is there another way you folks find easier?

Subs & Destroyers. Help settle a dispute.
Attacker has a destroyer and wants to move through and ignore a sea zone with an enemy sub. There is no enemy destroyer. Does the attacking destroyer have to stop and fight, or can it keep going with the rest of the attacking fleet?

RE: Question about Chinese Fighter?
Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that might be the case. So is it controlled on China’s turn or the U.S. turn?

Question about Chinese Fighter?
I just got Pacific 2nd edition and was confused about something on the setup. It says China gets a fighter to start, however there are no Chinese fighter pieces. I thought this might be a misprint since the unit identification chart shows that China only has infantry. But then I searched this site and it appears the Chinese fighter is a legit part of the game.
My assumption is that since the U.S. backs China, I would place a U.S. fighter? And if so, who controls it? The China player or the U.S. player?

Phoenix, AZ: Live Game Players Wanted
Hi. I am new to the board and I’m looking for a few people in the Phoenix area who’d like to get together and play live games. We have a small group but we’re looking to add more players. We play often (Just this week I hosted 3 games, for example). We welcome both experienced players and total newbs who are just learning. Pizza & Beer welcome! We also play Risk & Risk Legacy from time to time. Anyways… I created a Facebook Group for those interested in being notified when games are being held. Unfortunately, this site doesn’t allow me to post a direct link to the group. So search Facebook for “Phoenix Game Club”. There is both a page and a group. Please select the group and click join.
