A good film. Hardly accurate, but the original story probably wouldn't have even gotten a nod from executives without a massive rewrite. But it is an amazing tale of cat and mouse nonetheless.

Heard a news story today- apparently a group of Haitians spoke to some of the US military helping out down there asking us to take over the country, stating if that happened they wouldn't starve and would be working. I can't say I blame them for feeling that way. Just a bit I heard on the radio.

The Haitians would be better of if Haiti become the 52 state in the US.
But not to forget, there have been several US interests and influentials in the current Haitian government, and that has worked out very bad for the majority of Haitian citizens.

I was just watching a documentary on his life and I was thinking why hasn't anyone made a movie based on his life? I know, left field thought, but he would be the perfect real life story for someone interested in making a film where a gothic real life and abstract creation of one start going back and forth, a.k.a. Poe lives out his real life demons in stories which are represented on screen...

Also what is your opinion on his works? Do you find them fascinating?
