16  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: Evolution of Axis & Allies pieces -- Take 2 on: December 11, 2011, 04:57:25 am
KNP, great job on the evolution of the pieces. But you never mentioned that the original pieces for the infantry were a tab smaller than the ones released in the 1987 and later versions.  The smaller infantry also had flat base and "made in china" on the bottom. The taller infantry have "made in china" in addition to the abbreviation of the country e.g. "RU" for Russia, "AM" for America, etc.
The present infantry piece's bottom of its base is sort of indented in the middle and surrounded by a raised outer portion. I would post pics. of both types but I don't know how to post pics or don't have that capablity yet. If there is someone who can post pics maybe he can take a pic of both of the bottom of the pieces in question and post them, in addition to showing the relative piece size difference.

P.S. I think this is the reason the FMG italian infantry is a tab smaller than the present axis and allies pieces.  It seems they must have used the original axis and allies pieces as a guide instead of the present infantry piece, size wise.  Hopefully it was fixed with the German and U.S. scupts but it does need to be addressed.

I don't know if you can still get them.

I have recently just gotten HBG's pieces.  I have now switched out the Table Tactics mec with HBG's trucks, which I will now be using as motorized inf (mec).

yES, they look nice.  I'm using them as mech infantry also because it's almost impossible to find any of the central powers half tracks on ebay.

Well, count me in for a UK set then.  And definitely count me in for a French set.

Richelieu for a BB!
Oh yeah, the French BB definitely has to be the Richelieu.  A while back, I was heavy into building models, my favorites were 1/350 scale battleships.  So far, I have the USS Missouri, the Bismarck, the Yamato and the HMS Prince of Wales.  I saw a 1/350 scale Richelieu somewhere, but they wanted over $200 for it.  That was just too much for me.

here is one for just 69.99

We can always add the USA units and taylor it to our needs as has always been done in the past with Axis and Allies games.   Can't the map be downloaded and changes made to it after we have it in our hands???

This should be the background music for FMG's upcoming youtube introduction to their newest German set:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w17MamPY7A

Wagner's Prelude 1 to Act I of Parsifal!!!!!   Skip to 05:23 and you will hear the thunderous entrance of the Panzers as they are ushered in to the accompaniment of French horns and other brass: Priceless!

Maybe France can leap frog past the brits to a quicker production!

Are table tactics halftracks still available?== because they did come with the now defunct "Central Powers" expansion set.

Hopefully, this poll will influence them one way or the other which way to proceed.

Sounds good, Coach.  Any set made by you would be most welcome.
27  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: Next FMG SET on: December 09, 2011, 01:02:17 am
I chose France because, other than the now out of print Europe 1940, no French Units exist in any of the Axis and Allies line of games.
28  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Next FMG SET on: December 09, 2011, 01:00:00 am
We know that FMG will be producing the Germans both in Black and Gray and US troops will follow.  My question is if you had the choice to make, which Country would you want FMG to produce next?
29  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: HBG Japan Supplement Set on: December 09, 2011, 12:51:14 am
"Coach",

Although I forgot to say so,...the aircraft that I thought to be the "necessary basics" I put in Bold Face type.  And my chart was meant as a reference guide.

BTW, which Japanese a/c has FMG planned on producing?

                                                                                     "Tall Paul"

I haven't the slightest idea what FMG is preparing for sculpts.

So until we actually know what sculpts or units FMG is going to finalize for its Japanese units this is all speculation because we dont want to end up duplicating what FMg may produce in a set, not to mention getting the color of the units wrong.
30  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition / Re: Italian tanks? on: December 08, 2011, 07:15:59 pm
I believe its six.  wink

Got five tanks. One bag had the tank missing and an extra autoblinda piece in its place. jeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Some other lucky buyer therefore is  getting an extra tank and one less mech.
