I was thinking two nice contrasting colors for the Republic vis a vis the Nationalist would be red and yellow.

They changed everything including the map, figures and other components.  Who knows, maybe they added new revised rules too.

Yes, minor and neutral sets in OOB blue French color would be nice this way we can use them as French, Vichy or Free French
6  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: FRANCE and ANZAC COMBAT DICE - HELP us design them! on: December 16, 2011, 04:42:42 am
The only pieces that have ever been red have been the Japanese in Pacific 2001. You'd have to find those pieces and designate them "Russian" unless Coach and Jeremy are going to make the Russian pieces match the Field Marshall Russian Dice which do look nice and red.

9  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: Review of FMG Italians and HBG Axis Minors on: December 14, 2011, 02:54:03 am
Great News! Coach is coming out with an "Italian Brown" Minors set next week so we can use the trucks not only to replace FMG's truck but also as Mech Infantry. Now I'd love to see the Neutral Set come out in French blue so I can add the trucks to the Frence mix.
10  Axis & Allies / Other Axis & Allies Variants / Re: Next FMG SET on: December 13, 2011, 04:33:00 pm
Well, the poll shows one thing: that we would be happy no matter what is the next set after the British.

Looks like the lineup is gonna look like this after the british: France Russia japan

Just paint the new GMC trucks that are coming out in a few days with the U.S. supplemental set brown-end of problem.

UK should be removed from the poll, as FMG is doing them next anyway.  This poll should read 'after UK'

Ok, Jim.  It's done. All votes have been reset to zero and let's do it again.
13  Axis & Allies / Axis & Allies Europe 1940 / Re: When was Europe 1940 discontinued? on: December 13, 2011, 12:14:24 am
Ok, simple question.  If all the rumors are true that Europe 1940 will be reissued in February of 2012 then why is the first edition up to 149.99 and selling for over 200 on ebay?  Can anyone explain it to me "... like I was a two year old?"

WARRIOR888,
I totally agree with you on the Crusader for one of the British Armor sculpts.  That was a really cool tank.  As for the second, I would probably vote for the Churchill.  I like the 25 pounder field gun too.

militaryman077,
Thanks for the link to that eBay listing.  With shipping it would be nearly $100, but that's still way better than I priced this model before.  I don't usually like to get stuff from China, but I may make an exception in this case.  Anyway, thanks again.

You're very welcome, KNP.  Always happy to help.

The problem with scaling can be easily solved if FMG uses the current axis and allies infantry pieces as a guide instead of having used the original pieces, which were a tab smaller.   The original pieces that seem to have been used  can be identified by the simple "Made in China" on the under side of the piece.   These original pieces are actually smaller than the present axis and allies infantry pieces.

I took one of the original pieces and put the newer FMG italian pieces next to it and it was a perfect match in terms of height, whereas the present axis and allies infantry piece was taller.
